Hello! In your replies, you talk quite a lot about Draco not being an extremely good or attractive person. However, you still write drarry. What is it about the idea of their relationship that attracts you? And what attracts Harry to Draco, since Harry is obviously superior in every possible way except conventional intelligence (you usually write Draco as such a nerd, I love it). I know that ACT explores this topic, but if you could elaborate a little still, I would be most grateful
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic, but I'll assume you're in earnest.
In canon, Harry is righteous, loyal, creative and judgmental. He can be horribly pig-headed and oblivious. He can also be quite clever and insightful. He is not terribly deft at expressing his emotions. He cares deeply for people who are powerless and disadvantaged. He can be selfless and incredibly brave.
In canon, Draco is talkative, funny, dramatic, and selfish. He cares deeply about his family and success. He is creative and yet also small-minded, bigoted and cruel to those who are less fortunate. He seems extremely dedicated.
The characteristics we possess cannot be stacked into piles of good and bad that can clearly show whether we are superior if we have more qualities stacked in the "good" pile. Characteristics aren’t good or bad; they’re the tools we use to accomplish things. Bravery is a hammer; it can be used to destroy and used to build. So is intelligence, so is loyalty and ambition.
Harry isn't superior. No one is.
The reason Draco isn't "good" has to do with the things he does, not the person that he is. The question isn't "How can Harry love someone who is lesser?" The question is, "How can Harry love someone who has hurt him?" That's what H/D is about, to me.
The point of fanfic is that a character who did one thing in one context may do something completely different in a different context. Draco, who has done a thousand shitty things to Harry Potter, can do a thousand beautiful things. He can show Harry the fierce devotion he showed to his family; he can learn to be selfless and teach Harry to be selfish. His intolerance can be directed towardcruelty and bigotry, he can put his love for attention to use for a greater good.
Humanity isn't a hierarchy of people who are bad and people who are better. Humanity is people making choices. Some of those choices help others and some of those choices hurt. The stories we tell are about the choices we make, and the fanfics we write are about different choices we make. It really is that simple.
It’s almost 1 AM but in the song Belle from Beauty and the Beast the villagers sing “I need six eggs” “that’s too expensive!” and then later in the song Gaston, Gaston says “when I was a lad I ate four dozen eggs every morning to help me get large, now that I’m grown I eat five dozen eggs so I’m roughly as large as a barge” Gaston has been eating dozens of eggs every day for his entire life and is single handedly creating an artificial egg scarcity in the village and driving up egg prices. this economy is in shambles.
so i just finished watching the extended editions of the trilogy which is nearly 13 hrs long and this meme is correct somehow. this is the only line legolas speaks to frodo in the entire series. the only other debatable line is a scene in fellowship where legolas is speaking to gimli but frodo just happens to be near them and he’s cut to for a reaction shot. i wouldn’t really count it though since it wasnt directed at him.
someone already posted this but the kicker is at the end of return of the king where frodo sees the fellowship again and calls out to everyone by name except for legolas lmaooo
PLS i swear i saw this in another version of this post but i can’t find it now 😭
if anyone knows who wrote this scenario tag them so they can have credit asldfjslkf
@pretend-im-not-there is the one who wrote the previous scenario! and @insomniarama came up with froyo and ham 😂 so:

Me: Today was SHIT
thank you to our troops (girls who like to braid other girls hair)
Their dynamic is two cats yowling in a target parking lot
Even after thousands of years of marriage, they’d still act like dorks
I had to do this because it's SO TRUE.
:)
for the doodle ideas: maybe drarry + a reunion of some sort? a hug? orrrr ginny + a muggle sport of your choice 💘
I added some desperation to that reunion hug. For free. Hope you enjoy! <3
(Just..any excuse to draw a nose. Is all I need.)
Folk music is wonderful because there’s bound to be a million versions of any song you love. Folk music is terrible because nobody will ever sing it right except the person who taught you the song.
I brought you a fairy tale about a warm autumn evening, about speed and adrenaline, about luck and the glitter of the golden snitch. Not in every fight the winner is the one on top =)

Writing a novel is an enormous undertaking, and self-doubt will be part of that process. There will be days you just don’t know if you can do it. And on those days what is gonna save you is your process. Your ritual. So if you’re just starting to write a novel, go create that process, go create that ritual.
