I lost my job...
I feel choked up, but I can’t cry. Not that I don’t recognize the importance of expressing sorrow, my body just won’t let me.
Am I scared to feel defeated by this? That it might stop my momentum somehow? 😏 like I could be stopped.
No, but I am scared to feel vulnerable because it might shatter me. And there’s no-one to pick up the pieces.
I don’t have a shoulder to lean on at times like this. To hold me up when I can no longer stand. Or to let me cry my hard cry, then remind me of who I am and what I’m capable of.
So instead, I write everything down. Give my thoughts a place to play themselves out. And hope that if there’s someone somewhere out there feeling the same way… You’re not alone.
