This happened in Seattle during a Mardi Gras celebration. A group of men grabbed this woman, ripped off her clothing, groped, and sexually assaulted her. They all did this with smiles on their faces. How traumatizing it must have been and still is for this woman. Knowing that she cannot escape while these strangers violated her in public view. I can’t get this image out of my mind. There is so much sadness flowing over me that the only thing I can do is blog about it. I cannot come up with the words to express my sadness. I just imagine this happening to me and I become traumatized. How could this happen? People cannot say that it was due to Mardi Gras and “maybe” she showed her breasts, and she was asking for it; we don’t blame the victim, ever. I don’t know what happened to her, but if this happened to me I would probably kill myself, because I would not be able to deal with the trauma and sadness of probably never being able to be intimate with anyone after the fact. Shit like this happens everyday. Why?

Moreover, as President of our country, and Commander-in-Chief of our military, I accept that people are going to call me awful things every day, and I will always defend their right to do so. Americans have fought and died around the globe to protect the right of all people to express their views — even views that we disagree with.
We do so not because we support hateful speech, but because our Founders understood that without such protections, the capacity of each individual to express their own views, and practice their own faith, may be threatened. We do so because in a diverse society, efforts to restrict speech can become a tool to silence critics, or oppress minorities. We do so because given the power of faith in our lives, and the passion that religious differences can inflame, the strongest weapon against hateful speech is not repression, it is more speech — the voices of tolerance that rally against bigotry and blasphemy, and lift up the values of understanding and mutual respect.
A message I hope the young impressionable minds of the tumblr sjw community will take time to reflect about.

Thank you, tumblr SJ community, for explaining to me that the moment one does not believe that POC should be allowed to go unchallenged in any racially motivated bias or hatred, that they are a white supremacist. I must have missed the memo tho, that tinyblacktears was 'specifically aimed to saying how hard it is for white people' and not just, y'know, calling people out for being hypocritical fucks when it came to their view on racism. I forgot tho, that this was an oppression olympics we were playing and that only the lowest tiers on the ~privilege ladder~ were allowed to have their issues paid attention to and it would be derailing to talk about the experiences of anyone else. Because that wold be derailing, never mind that their experiences are entirely valid. Except when they're white because white people don't deserve to be paid attention to, I forgot. Listen, we don’t even live in a patriarchy, we live in a kyriarchy and ALL sexes and genders uphold sexist gender roles and oppressive values, and you’re even doing it right now.
Self-loathing is not ok. It’s not healthy, and it doesn’t help your depression. It doesn’t help anyone’s depression and it solves nothing. It doesn’t rid people of their privileges. You’re also not a “traitor” or any of that shit for being a trans guy. The only thing you’re destroying by self-hating is yourself.
After all, both male and female sexuality can be destructive— but it can also be nurturing and good. You’re even promoting sexist values right now by assuming that men are always destructive and oppressive and that women are helpless (or some shit like that). You may not be saying it out right, but that’s what you’re implying. Our current system is something that evolved over time and was a result of how each society and culture evolved in order to survive. That system is no longer necessary and shaming tactics only make it worse. Men should be allowed to express emotion and the problems that they deal with, and people all together should work to fix the issues that our ancestors as a whole developed.

Important for privileged groups to hate themselves? How the fuck do you end up at that conclusion? How about awareness, wouldn’t that be a start? Self-hate is equally selfish as self-love and to assume that self-hate is “important” is just a way of continuing to acknowledge that you still have privilege. The only way to truly combat privilege (as a privileged person) is to ignore the pretenses of social norms stemming from privilege and to also try to reverse the monetary effects on a personal level. Donate parts of your income to charities that you deem worthy. If you’re a white cis Christian male and your privilege from the time of birth to your present-day six-figure salary career adds up to a better education or what have you, then just give what you feel was given to you based of privilege. It just comes down to being a good person. Fuck everyone who thinks privileged people need to hate themselves for it. There are so many double-standards in the minority mindset where they can’t be discriminated against but can use as many slurs and as much hateful speech as they want. Any kind of -ism (racism, sexism, etc.) GOES BOTH WAYS, if you are hateful or discriminatory to someone based on their race or gender or whatever, even if they are the majority, YOU ARE PRACTICING DISCRIMINATION. That kind of behavior gets everyone nowhere. Ignorance is the real problem and it’s both the majority AND the minority’s problem.

As much as I make fun of you on my blog, your hearts are undeniably in the right place, although your methods I find, at best, laughable, and at worst, detrimental to your cause.
I commend you for fighting for social justice, but here are some words of advice:
You cannot fight oppression by putting down the so-called privileged group.
Angrily accusing a member of a group you deem privileged will not make them sympathetic to your cause; it will merely alienate them. Typing out ‘die cis scum’ or ‘check your privilege’ only puts otherwise supportive people on the defensive.
Not everyone who is white, male, cis, thin, able-bodied or hetero is an evil oppressor who is working hard to make your life as difficult as possible. Most members of these groups are lovely people and you are helping no one if you make hateful generalisations about them.
Death threats are never okay, no matter how transphobic you find a member of the blogging community.
Many of your so-called privileges are extreme petty, and make your cause look like a joke. Remember to focus on real problems.
Being polite and informative goes a long way. Maybe it’s not your job to educate people, but if you want people to support you, providing useful resources will support your cause greatly.

What I've been saying all along. And yet, everyone sees posts like these and attempt to justify their hatred by saying WELL THIS IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THE OPPRESSION MINORITY GROUPS FACE! And when you acknowledge that, they just derail by insisting that you think that this and oppression are of equal weight instead of actually addressing the main point.

I think trans guys are allowed to present in a feminine manner. I don't think your presentation should dictate your gender nor do I even think it's right to gender a lot of aspects of presentation and expression. That one can still be manly in a skirt or in make-up.
What I have difficulty understanding are those who go all out on their feminine presentation and put so much importance in looking 'like a girl' and then gets indignant when people misgender them. I too like dressing in things people might find feminine, but I'm not so unrealistic to think that it's super transphobic if people misgender you. No, it's not. It really isn't, I'm sorry to break it to you.
But with regards to dysphoria... yeah, if your dysphoria is as bad as you say, I really doubt you'd be going about wearing outfits that draw attention to the parts of your anatomy you allegedly feel dysphoric about.
Don't get me started on people who happily flaunt their parts because unfortunately, I'm of the why consider yourself trans if you'd rather have the body you already have?
Why is it when a majority group member does or says something that not everyone agrees with, it's from a place of privilege but when a minority group member does the same thing it's from a place of "internalized" something (misogyny/transphobia/cissexism/whatever)? Why can't it be that some people just hold different views?
I’ve always found Korra’s popularity with the social justice crowd kind of ironic. I mean yeah I guess I can see why they’d like a strong PoC character who wasn’t a stereotype, but then you realize that the whole theme of the show is that discriminating against the majority is bad too.
