like for what it's worth FNV is a really good game, esp given what it was competing against at the time. However, race, especially indigienity, is consistently its weakest point. The main game of FNV takes the settler state of the USA's ownership of indigenous land at face value and when there was a DLC that was supposed to address the vibrant indigenous cultures of the USA southwest, the narrative was made clear immediately that this was non-NDNs masquerading a half-remembered version of their cultures. The work treats Mormons in Utah as more of sure thing re: a cultural presence that won't die out than even broach the possibility that indigenous ppl of the USA might see a revival of their culture in the event of a sudden absence of the USA's settler state.
