This little guy completes the trio of illustrations shown in a couple of my previous posts! I think out of all three this one has to be my favourite! I love doing little watercolour studies. It seems that recently I have been painting so much greenery, this little A5 print as well as many similar ones are available on my Etsy shop ( etsy.com/shop/maeveoliviamorgan ) they look so lovely when put together as a trio! I hope everyone had a great Easter for those who celebrate, and a lovely weekend for those who don’t! 🍃

Yesterday I did my first market and it was such a great experience! It was fab to meet other creators and to receive lovely compliments and advice! I'm definitely going to book in more markets in the near future. Thank you to everyone that was there and had a chat with me!

Illustration 2/3 for my little series. Each painting is A5 and focuses on one primary colour! I loveeee working small. I actually had to scale these up quite a lot when I made prints from them. I have to keep buying smaller and smaller paintbrushes! I wanted to see how small I could paint, I recreated the first illustration from this series and made it the same size as a 2p! Just a little watercolour and ink illustration that I've made A5 prints from. I actually made this into a series, creating a trio of prints with the same composition. I used three different plants each with a primary colour. It feels like soooooo long since I've last posted on here! But all for a good reason, I've been busy working on an Etsy shop which is now finally up and running, I would appreciate it more than anything if you could spare 5 minutes to check it out! End of year show! All of my work is now set up and finished, ready to be marked. I went with the cafe set up, presenting my fake food on slate and cake stands, as well as showing photographs of fake meals I took and a menu showing subtle hints that the food is fake.

After creating loads more fake foods, I started looking at presentation and how I could present all of my work. My plan is to make it look like a cafe, I'm using a table and a variety of plinths so my work can be presented at different heights.

Finishing off the fake eclairs using PolyFilla as the cream filling and brown wood filler as the chocolate icing.

Using expanding foam to create fake eclairs! I waited for it to dry, then cut, sanded and painted the 'pastries'.

Icing the fake cake! I finished off the cake by using brown wood filler as icing, which I placed in the middle and on top of the cake, I also piped it to make it look more realistic.

Making a fake cake! I've cut, sanded and shaped black foam to create the shape of a cake, which I then painted using acrylic paints.

Fake plaster biscuits before they were painted!

Removing the real biscuits to reveal the mould. Which I then filled with plaster and left to set to create fake biscuits.

The beginning of making fake biscuits in sculpture. Using real biscuits I coated them in layers of latex, dried it using a hair dryer and the create a mod roc cast on top of it to give the latex support before pouring in the plaster.
