wooper :)
I think I have made a terrible mistake, and for too many years I clung to that mistake. It defined me.
I believed I could create art using nothing more than my own willpower against the crushing nightmare of my disabilities.
The decades of futile struggle have proven me wrong. I should have admitted I cant do this so long ago, but my pride held me prisoner. I kept on as if there was some value in being able to create independently.
I can't do that. I haven't been able to for a very long time, if I ever was. In all of 2025 I drew only eight pictures, most barely more than sketches.
It will probably be difficult for me, but I will try to find ways to get assistance from others - not to do the art for me - but to be with me as I create, to be a crutch I can lean on where otherwise I would create nothing. I guess, to outsource my lack of focus to people that can help.
This might sound bizarre, but it's the result of the uniquely horrific interaction between myalgic encephalomyelitis and a debilitating case of ADHD. Some people with ADHD can use coping methods and various accommodations to get things done. The problem is that due to ME/CFS I have no energy or focus to spare. Trying to work in those ways leaves me devastatingly exhausted and sometimes even worse off than if I'd done nothing at all.
So, I need help. I will try to find ways to get that help without being difficult for people. I have friends that might understand and be willing, but these sorts of things can be hard to navigate. If anyone out there has advice, I would like to hear it.
:(

in order to unlearn racism u have to be willing to accept that u are racist. it’s not a bad thing to want to change for the better. it’s not a bad thing to say hey, the way i’ve been acting is racist and i don’t want to be racist anymore. when people of color are telling u ways in which u have been racist, it’s actually not cool to brush it off and say, well i didn’t mean it that way.. u actually have to make an effort to stop doing those things if u want to be able to actually say ur anti-racist. u can’t just say ur not racist because u don’t wanna be seen as racist. that’s not how unlearning racism works.
“um i’m actually a good person so calling me racist couldn’t possibly be true. ur just attacking me!” see how the racism is literally right there? see how ur just seconds away from calling me an angry black girl?
I literally reblogged this a day ago and OP was still up. This shit is entirely unacceptable fucking hell.
Whether this was a mass report until OP got auto-modded or a racist mod terminating OP with prejudice, any Black person who speaks up on racism instead of just grinning and bearing it still risks getting nuked from fucking orbit in this shithole.
Take what OP said to heart and do away with your white fragility.
Having a paranoid disorder sure sucks when the government really is trying to find a way to hurt you. :(

brb gonna fight the government
Wait, did Stephen King write tf2?
Stephen Kong wrote “It”.
I noticed the typo before I hit submit, but it’s funny, so it stays. He’s the scariest member of the DK Crew.
Look Outside fanfic idea and it's just that if you are named Ash and get the Evil Dead reference, Brock Samson from The Venture Bros is there and just glares at the Visitor until it leaves and is unchanged.
The only interaction with the party is with Helen.
Brock: "Nice gardening knife."
Helen: "Nice killing knife"
Brock "I know a good place to get gardening knives, let me write it down for you, they don't ask questions."
So in addition to KOSA making a return (CALL YOUR CONGRESS PERSON AND TELL THEM TO VOTE AGAINST IT BTW!!!) the Senate has just introduced TWO internet censorship bills!
The Block Bad Electronic Art and Recording Distributors Act (Block BEARD Act)
And the equally ridiculous and ineffective Foreign Anti-Digital Piracy Act
Both of these acts seek to force Internet Service Providers to block access to foreign piracy websites. The Electronic Frontier Foundation has said this is ridiculous and ineffective, that site-blocking bills only serve to censor the internet and make it more unsafe for everyone. AND THE'YRE RIGHT!!!
Piracy has existed until the dawn of time. And pirates will find ways around bills like these with no issue. But these bills are still dangerous and essentially pave the way for your ISP to block whatever our government thinks is "Objectionable". These DINOSAURS who dont understand the internet have no BUSINESS creating legislation around it. This is a bald faced attempt to block the internet for users for corporate gain. Wanna know how I know that?
The people that have endorsed the bill
Are all
People
Who
Would benefit from a bill like this. CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES!! TELL THEM YOU DO NOT SUPPORT EITHER OF THESE BILLS! OR KOSA WHILE YOURE AT IT! TELL THEM YOU OPPOSE INTERNET CENSORSHIP IN ALL FORMS!
We will not sit idly by while these GHOULS try and block and censor a free Internet!

While everyone is focusing on being critical of "Man In A Dress Joke Haha Funny!" it should also be noted that it also should include Cloud from FF7.
Transmisogynistic jokes and caricatures are transmisogynistic even if "the guy in a dress is conventionally attractive, skinny, white, etc" despite what fandom may have you believe.
And no, the remake did not "do it better"
I actually see Cloud as a genderfluid individual and have been enjoying playing FF7: Remake with a mod having Cloud be Claudia, a transwoman. (I found one that doesn't give them massive and unrealistic breasts. Massive is fine. But they shouldn't defy gravity.)
But yeah, it does have some issues with potential transmisogyny.
Except he isn't genderfluid. He's explicitly canonically cis and male.
And even if he WAS genderfluid, which again he is not, that doesn't make it not those moments in FF7 suddenly not transmisogynistic.
You cannot, and I must stress this as heavily as I can, erase transmisogyny or transmisogynistic jokes/caricatures with fanon or fan mods.
Now I'm not saying BotW/TotK gets off scottfree here, because how they do things is still inevitably problematic (the wording, quest dialogue, and misgendering of a character is all not great at all), however the villain in that subquest was the intolerant dude who wanted to break into Gerudo Town because he wanted to oogle them.
The Gerudo specifically DO allow non-cis and non-gendered people into their town. As seen with the Gorons being allowed in as just one example.
And Link does use improper means to go there... except, once you play the games, you realize that Link was always actually allowed in Gerudo Town. It's just been 100 years and no one remembers him anymore. Like Link is specifically stated to be allowed there, he is explicitly designated as a special case.
But, AGAIN, I cannot stress this enough the "women's only space" a lot of you keep talking about in FF7 was a place where an elitist man was assaulting women, imprisoning them, and murdering them when he got bored. And that isn't a "women's space" it's a man's space where he OWNS women and treats them like things.
Okay, let's look at that for a moment.
We have a situation where a serial killer is using his position of power to drag multiple women to his palace every few days, chooses one for himself to rape and then kill, and gives the other two to his lackeys. While it isn't specified that the other women die, at the very least they end up victims of horrific crimes against them.
Our protagonist, Cloud, wants to go in there to save Tifa, his childhood friend. However, he can't get past the guards. His new friend, Aerith, comes up with a means by which he is dressed up as a woman - essentially putting him in disguise. It works, and the fact that our serial killer... is an idiot? the disguise works and Cloud gets chosen by the killer, while Tifa and Aerith show up and rescue him.
Cloud does not play up being a girl. He is there in disguise, he's uncomfortable with how he's dressed, and it's about doing a job. That's all. There was no real humor to the scene - at least to me. Is this transmisogyny? Or is it "the protagonist goes in disguise to get into the villain's lair to rescue his friend"? (It can be both, mind you.)
If there is transmisogyny at play here, it's on the part of the authors of the game - and most likely of the original game. Now, not all transgender people are the same. I'm a transwoman and didn't find a problem with the scene, but I also chose to use mods to change the dynamic so it's "this woman hates dressing all girly but has to so to get into the villain's lair." And that was my choice.
Now, you look at this and see transmisogyny. You don't see transmisogyny with Link and sneaking into Gerudo Town... but someone else may see it as such despite the fact Link has an exception for being Link - he's still sneaking into Gerudo Town dressed as a woman.
(And again, a lot of folks see the characters in the Legend of Zelda games as gender-fluid. We had Zelda as a man in one game (Ocarina of Time). Officially she was just disguised, but there is still enough fans out there who just see the entire LoZ populace as genderfluid that even I've heard about it and I've not played the games.)
This doesn't diminish or dismiss your feelings that what we see in FF7 is transmisogynistic. And hopefully in the future this whole trope can eventually vanish - either because we as people realize that clothes have no gender and a man in a dress is just a man in a dress and is not "inherently funny" or the like... or because people just stop using it as a source of "humor" in games and stories.
(As an aside, it's also why I don't like humor in general - it seems far too many jokes are at the expense of people, even if the person in question is the comedian in question. Sorry if I don't want to laugh at other people's pain.)
It’s still transmisogyny even if you liked it.
These moments are played for laughs, the moments of these men dressed as women are used as jokes, it is harmful.
The only reason people look more kindly toward Cloud and Link are because they are SKINNY, WHITE, AND CONVENTIONALLY ATTRACTIVE.
If Link and Cloud weren’t these things, I guarantee more people would have problems with them.
While everyone is focusing on being critical of "Man In A Dress Joke Haha Funny!" it should also be noted that it also should include Cloud from FF7.

Okay, so i know i have been absent for a while, but i am asking for help.
I had a car accident, i owe $700 for it.
i also am still $4500 in debt, so in total i need 5200 to get out of debt and cover shit. especially since my mom had a stroke. She is recovering well and should be okay, but I am now scared if something else happens it will be worse.
I will be working to get out of debt myself, this just will speed it up by a lot.
cat pic is just for good vibes

The "societies in high-magic fantasy settings where body-altering magic is widely available would obviously have a very different relationship with gender than our own, and I feel the implications of that are worth exploring – purely as an intellectual exercise, of course" to "hey, wait a minute" pipeline.
#this is the book equivalent to picking the girl in a video game as a speedrun strat (via @thetrashiestoftrash)
I once bumped into a guy who argued in all apparent seriousness that video games with selectable player characters where the girl has better speed tech are part of a plot to turn speedrunners trans.
Shout out to Castlevania Portrait of Ruin, where there's a boy protagonist and a girl protagonist, but the new fastest speedrun route involves using a glitch to turn the boy protagonist into a girl:
oh, who is she?
a misty memory
a haunting gaze
is she a lost embrace...?
