society has progressed past the need for "jacob elordi" and "timothee chalamet"
— The food in Julie & Julia
Fun fact: Many of the foods that appear in the film are real. The production hired a chef to prepare Julia Child's recipes on set. The actors actually ate the foods that appear on screen.
you're pretty weird for a girl who tried to be normal her whole life
I thought I wasn't autistic because I didn't have any food that felt wrong and the the world decided to invent the fucking tapioca
*copying what murdaaa video* what traumaaaa
i have a family
they made many terrible character choices after season one of the flash (ie making barry less bitchy and less nerdy, his two most beautiful traits) but truly the only good choice they made was recognizing the chemistry between carlos valdes and tom cavanagh and then kept inventing new versions of harrison wells for cisco to have sexual tension with. that was allyship
sometimes I think about how far we still have to go with consent
my worst relatives try to sneak meat or meat products into my food despite the fact that I'm a vegetarian
my ex's brother gave his mother an edible without her knowledge and when she got freaked out and paranoid they laughed, and people I've told that go "yeah that's shitty but it's just weed"
when I go to the doctor and ask them to describe what they are going to do before touching me they get frustrated
when I ask a friends of a friend who is a small influencer to keep me out of frame in videos they film for social media in public they look at me like I've pissed in their cereal
idk man, we've got a long way to go.
and fucking TICKLING STILL BEING A THING
Oh, god, you just reminded me-- & I just realized that's another thing to go on the "rules about my baby" list 😭
I always HATED tickling, but always got told, "Well, did you tell them 'no?'/ tell them to stop?" which of course I always did, but then it was, "Well, you laughed, so you DO like it."
When I was little, I vividly remember my dad tickling me in the living room, while my mom was right in the kitchen. I screamed, screamed "NO!", probably "No, please!", "Mommy help me!", "Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!" But I was a child being tickled, so, no matter how I cried & tried to suppress it, I could not stop myself from laughing, & hating myself for laughing. Because, not only did I not have a say to begin with, but my laughing meant "I wanted it."
This time, he seemed to be going on longer than ever, & I felt like I was going to pee my pants. I didn't remember ever peeing my pants before (idk if I ever really had), & I was on the couch, & that would've surely gotten me in trouble, too, let alone the humiliation!
Last resort: (The 1 garbled lesson I could remember on "not being kidnapped.") If someone is touching you in a way you don't want, -/- yell out, "You're not my [parent]!"
So I did. I was so relieved to have remembered that loophole when I needed it most! I took a deep breath & yelled at the top of my lungs, "YOU'RE NOT MY DADDY!"
Well, he stopped. My mom finally came in from the kitchen. I was so proud of myself. & I got in guilt-tripping trouble anyway, for "hurting daddy's feelings." Because what I wanted or was feeling was not up to me, & not important. I was supposed to let him tickle me as much as he wanted, because HE wanted it, no matter if he made me pee on the couch.
My dad was indeed "only" tickling me, fingers under the armpits, maybe blowing stomach raspberries. But once I grew up, I did realize it was all exactly the same playbook, rules, & punishments as something else.
I remember physically fighting my uncle and calling him a dumbass for tickling me way too much. I was told off. I was told I should learn some respect.
Of course he didn't know that I was sexually assaulted as a kid and tickling makes my brain remember the threat and star fighting it. Even if he knew, I doubt he would care. Because tickling IMO is a way for some people to torture someone without being called out for that. It's creepy. And they always ALWAYS try to do it when you specificly tell them not to do it.
I wish I could be normal about affection but my love language is merging souls.
i like it when people compliment me. i like it... when people like me. (looks around to make sure nobody is about to shoot me)
all the roads lead back to the loneliness ive felt ever since i was a child
you don’t realize how important lunch is until you’re wandering around thinking about how unloveable and untalented and uniquely cursed you are and then it’s 4pm and you finally eat lunch and you go Oh. oh right.
came to me in a vision and it made me giggle
