Daily affirmations:
At least I'm not in high school
At least I'm not a teenager
At least I'm not addicted to AI
At least I don't waste time and money on a daily 12 step skincare routine
At least I'm not American
this probably isn't a can of worms i want to open, but shipping aro/ace characters is not indicative of arophobia/acephobia/queerphobia.
the "excuse" that aro/ace people can have romantic and/or sexual relationships is valid, of course, but a more important point — these characters are not real. there is no orientation of theirs to disrespect, because they do not exist. they're not harmed or offended by people shipping them. if someone writes an asexual character having sex, that doesn't mean they're acephobic. these characters literally do not exist, the situations and relationships they're in do not exist. it is truly not this massive injustice, or this massive act of bigotry against the community. people can write whatever they like with whatever characters they like.
would accurate representations of aro/ace people being in relationships be nice? yeah. should more people explore these relationships in fiction? in my opinion, yeah. but sometimes people just want to write or draw porn with a character they like, and that's completely fine, too. fandom isn't activism, and fanfiction especially isn't.
disclaimer: op is on both the aromatic and asexual spectrum. op is also extremely sex-repulsed, and in a relationship.

Gege Caleb: Pips! Look how big it is!
Pilot Caleb: We have to share?
Spring Caleb: Let's play nice, or else we get nothing.
it's always entertaining watching antis pretend to know better than licensed professionals.
1: people can and do "sexualise their trauma" to cope. if a rape victim wants to use cnc to help them cope with trauma (e.g. moving on from it, recontextualising views on sex/themselves/their relationship to sex, or as a way of taking back control in a consensual and safe environment) they are fully within their right to do so. people cope with trauma in many different ways, and yes, some of those coping mechanisms may seem "icky" — but you cannot police how people cope with their own damn trauma.
2: were you there when this imaginary person's therapist told them how to deal with their trauma? no? then you don't get to comment on how they deal with their trauma, or what their therapist wants them to do or intends for them to do.
3: sometimes "exploring [trauma] safely" means fantasising about it/things similar to it, or "romanticising" it. that doesn't work for you? cool, but it does work for others. not all victims are the same, not all trauma is the same, not all coping mechanisms work for everyone. humans are extremely complicated creatures, and we'll all have different ways to cope — your experience is not universal.
4: sexual abuse exists. abuse is often sexual.
The Apothecary Diaries: Volume 2 - Natsu Hyuuga
But it’s true that a lot of leftist literature overuses a ton of really specific academic terms that the average person probably won’t understand and makes it insufferable to read. The average joe without a college education and who hasn’t read all of Marx‘ and Lenin‘s works probably won’t know what Dialectical Materialism, false consciousness, or post colonial intersectional feminist theory is.
This is a problem because although leftist literature should rationally be *the* literature most accessible to lower class people, it isn’t.
Literally just explain the terms you think people might not know in the fucking book! I don’t know why leftists are so allergic to making reading accessible. People don’t know what you’re talking about, not because they’re stupid, but because you don’t explain.
i have ADHD and pretty bad dyslexia. Reading the communist manifesto was such a challenge, that I had to default to an audio book. Why, oh why, is it so hard for leftist writers to make anything they write accessible to the needs of the common man?
me talking to my gf about trauma I had with previous partners (she hugged me and reassured me that those bitches did me wrong :'))
Drama slop, Mexico
What if you were a poor woman and fell in love with a rich man whose family would literally pay you to stay away from him?
Australian slop: can we all just take a moment to acknowledge the inherent ridiculousness of pretending to be classy in this nowhere place
Everyone else sounds like wish fulfillment,
What the fuck is going on in India?
It's Misogynistic propaganda to show that the only good women are the ones that stay at home worshipping her husband, taking care of their kids and his entire family while trying to please them because they hate her.
She isn't allowed to hate or despise his family even though they treat her like shit and respect them because they're elders. At the end of the story, she will save everyone and they will finally accept her.
The evil woman in the drama is the one that cares about her rights and doesn't think that she is her husband's property and belongs to him. She probably doesn't want to leave her job after she gets married because she obviously worked hard for it. The villainess in these series are the characters you're going to like the most because they have an actual personality.
There is no evidence to support the claim that you can just manifest terrible things into your life by thinking about them. None whatsoever!
But if you struggle to internalize this, here's a workaround: visualize a little sprite that hovers around your head and eats up all the bad thoughts that come out of your mind before they can escape into the universe. Your intrusive thoughts can't go anywhere if they're getting eaten up!
Advice on Endings
I hate ending my stories. I will drag a story on long after it should have ended even though I know it should be done with. If anyone else struggles as well, here is a list of the different types of endings that are common.
Full Circle – Mirror the beginning of the story, show how the tone has shifted from start to end
Bittersweet – Character wins at the cost of something else, creates emotional depth
Emotional resolution – Focuses more on the growth of the characters than the events of the story
Twist – reveal something that changes the readers perspective or understanding
Open – doesn’t answer all the questions or solve all the conflicts of the story, leaving room for interpretation
Quiet – Subtle, reflective ending rather than a dramatic event
Sacrifice – The character has to give something up to achieve a greater goal
Hopeful – Despite the events of the story, there is a distinct sense that everything will be okay
Consequence – Shows how the characters choices throughout the story impact the world or their relationship
Character choice – centers on a decision that defines who the character has become through the story
How do you feel about older teens like 16 or 17 year olds reading 18+ content?
????? you mean one of the most normal and tame things most teenagers do????? I was watching hardcore porn, borderline snuff films on some shady sites my friend found, when I was like 10. 13 at most. probably 10, I don’t know. but I definitely shouldn’t be watching it. I did anyway. with all of my classmates. in our classroom at our school. and I was not traumatized.
when my friends and I were 16-17 we were doing way, way more extreme shit than that. teenagers at that age typically have sex and do drugs. I’m not “encouraging them” to do it by making this response. but it’s simply a fact that a whole lot of teenagers age 16-17 are out there having sex and getting high.
believe me, reading silly smut at that age is the equivalent of a grown adult having a cup of coffee. I can’t imagine anything more normal for them to do than that.
"The idea made me horny" is a good enough reason to write anything.
the thought of love and a mating press made me write.
