Well someone did run the numbers and actually Kate and Anthony had the more screen time in the main plot than Daphne and Simon. Julia Cudney on YouTube did a video breaking down this claim

Thank you for the recommendation for their video. If I am reading the chart correctly, they spend 15 min less/4% less of total season time on the main romance (where they’re together), 30 min more/5% more of the total season time on the focal overflow (where they’re apart) but the focal overflow counted Anthony’s scenes with Edwina or Kate’s scenes with Edwina. There was also 15 min/2% more spent on the Featheringtons. I would still argue less time overall was spent on the two leads together.

I don’t have the numbers to back it up but I’m convinced that Kate+Anthony got less screen time (despite being the main couple!!) in Season 2 thanks to the Eloise/Theo/Pen, Edwina, and the Featheringtons plot lines compared to Daphne/Simon in Season 1. That combined with having Colin/Pen for Season 3 is just ???? unless they do a big time jump

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but they shouldn’t have revealed who Lady Whistledown was and it would have worked better to keep the mystery of the omniscient observer. Plus I wouldn’t have to deal with the overbearing who is she storyline during Kathony’s season!!

As someone who read Bridgerton for years before the series came out and whose favorite book is split between TVWLM and RMB, let me share my thoughts on Season 2. Spoilers obviously.

While I understand that this is an adaptation of the book and not a carbon copy, I’m a miffed they spent so much time on the Lady Whistledown/Penelope/Eloise subplot and I think that time hindered the ability to give more opportunity for Kate/Anthony. show!Edwina was made so much more naive when she was the one true Kathony shipper in the book and well aware that Anthony was never interested in her.

The book gave opportunity for Kate/Anthony to work through both their traumas which came from grief. I also think book!Anthony wouldn’t allow himself to put Edwina through a marriage knowing Kate wanted her to be with someone for love and he didn’t love her. They missed out on opportunities to show ways that he changed and was made worthy of being with Edwina (the scene with Cressida/Penelope especially from the book) along with his unwavering support for his family. Maybe they felt two marriages due to compromise would have been too much given the previous series but Season 1 was closer to the book than Season 2 was.

And Penelope/Eloise!! Like honestly the show should not have revealed who Lady Whistledown was this early and there’s no way book!Penelope would have risked her friendship with Eloise that way.

The fact that we don’t get to see their marriage and them working together through their trauma is a missed opportunity.

Psychologically speaking you shouldn’t speak to your child with a baby voice. Babies making gurgling noises are then trying to imitate their surroundings aka what you’re saying but at that point they can only hear the emotional tones. Speaking in full sentences but speaking positively and happy tones improve the baby’s confidence when speaking.

Linguistically speaking though, motherese or child directed speech has its value. It tends to be slower with varying pitch and tones which can aid in speech and language development. It also can help infants better direct their attention to activities.m

Why isn’t using sign language more common in society? like??? Not even just communicating within deaf communities but for everybody to use with anybody?

I feel like this should be standard learning material for those working in loud workplaces or with machinery, or maybe idk for talking underwater or when someone else can’t hear you at a concert. Or what about when somebody is having a panic attack and can’t talk, or just isn’t all that comfortable with voicing their feelings?

Why isn’t nonverbal communication more integrated into our society? Cause it should be.

From the perspective of a soon to be Speech Language Pathologist (someone who works with speech, language, and communication), it’s because people (especially parents) fear sign language or any form of augmented/alternative language as something that will “replace” speech/language when in reality it can be very facilitative based on the research. There’s a presumption that sign or AAC devices will be favored over speech when it’s much better to have a means of communication, even if it isn’t “verbal”.

hey arabelle <3 i was wondering if you could recommend any makeup-removal wipes that are suitable for very sensitive skin + are good for the skin? I put on my make up every morning promising myself that i'll remove it in the evening but my mental health often prevents me from doing a whole cleansing thing at night so i often end up going to bed with make up on and then i break out in the morning. so i need something good and easy! it would be a great help. thank you <3

maybe try the makeup eraser! i haven’t tried it myself yet but it looks really promising and if you don’t like it you can return it at sephora no problem. it’s not disposable so you’re being less wasteful than with regular wipes. 

if that isn’t a route you want to take, my true fave makeup wipe is the koh gen do ones – sooooooo luscious. they’re a little pricey (honestly you can feel why when you use them) but a cheaper alternative is the simple wipes, which are my drugstore (and more economical) choice.

Sephora sells their own version of the Makeup Eraser for $12 and you get two black square cloths instead of a long rectangular one. It has worked great for me when removing my makeup at the end of the day and it is a bit cheaper!

Looking for a fic

I’ve been searching and searching through the CS AU FF tag but haven’t found a fic I read ages ago. It was an AU, where Killian was Henry’s teacher and also taught guitar lessons on the side. Emma had gone out with Killian and they ended up having a one night stand and all three happen to meet at a diner. Emma also took either sweatpants or a sweatshirt from Killian. The results of my DIY OCC Lip Tar RTW (i.e., detubing my OCC Lip Tar into a lipgloss tube). The wiper does a great job at cleaning off the wand/doefoot applicator so you get just enough to apply. The downside is that the wiper can't clean the top of the wand so if any product collects there (like you see in the video), it may make the top of the tube messy which is the nature of such a liquidy lip product. I got my tubes from DIYCosmetics.com (10 tubes for 8 bucks) #diy
