idc about the excuses of The Acolytes being Magneto cult either. That memorial was specifically to the victims who died on Genosha. Remy was a well known member of the X Men and known to multiple of the Acolytes. He is also the man who sacrificed himself to end the attack, and save everyone else. Magneto gets two pictures (and an emotional look from Rogue? I saw your bs Emmett "make the grooming look romantic" Yonemura. Ik what you are. She shouldn't be emotional over her groomer rather than sad for the lack of acknowledgement to the love of her life who is dead) when he didn't even die on Genosha. And everyone knows it *because veryone saw him commit genocide with his emp and asteroid days later*. Not to mention that his emp/asteroid stunt almost certainly killed as many, if not more, mutants as Genosha. And with his asteroid he would've ended life on earth, including all mutants. The decision by the 97 team to fake out the trailer as having Remy on the memorial, to trick Gambit fans into thinking he was being remembered is foul. Vile. Sick. And this constant bait and switch they do by advertising with Romy, and then not actually having any Romy in the series is so fucking annoying. They treat us like idiots. This whole episode has basically killed my excitement for 97. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for so long. But I do not think they can stop disappointing me.

Also X Men 97 this week: here's Rogue looking at a memorial for the people killed on Genosha. She does not look once at the image of Remy, the man she loves, chose, and who *died to save everyone by sacrificing himself against the tri sentinel*. No. Instead she will look emotionally and wistfully at an image of the paedophile who groomed and raped her as a teenager, who for some reason is placed at the top of this memorial *EVEN THOUGH HE DIDN'T FUCKING DIE IN THE ATTACK AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT BECAUSE HE IMMEDIATELY COMMITTED GENOCIDE AGAINST EVERYONE ON THE PLANET - INCLUDING THE MUTANTS*

I am so disappointed in this show. I was so so excited for it. But I loved TAS because it was an X Men show, and 97 is just the Groomneto show that features them sometimes. And I don't want to watch a show that glamourises or endorses grooming, CSA, and rape. Which 97 clearly does. The Rogue x Groomneto plot is the most explicit allegory for grooming I've seen in a kids show, and the director chose to make it more 'romantic'. Fuck them. And the whole production team.

So the man who didn't die, committed his own genocide via emp, and attempted a second via asteroid - both of which would've killed thousands of mutants too!! And proved he *could* have stopped the Sentinels on Genosha if he wanted - gets two images, whereas the man who is not the elected leader but sacrificed himself anyway to save everyone gets *nothing*

And his team don't even mention it???

No. Absolutely fuck you x men 97, Emmett Yonemura, and Jake Castorena. Fuck you all for this so much. You're foul.

You absolutely knew the Gambit deserved to be mourned. You knew it should be Rogue mourning. You knew she should be mourning Remy and not Magneto. And you tricked us with it. You lied and deceived so you could push out your weird right wing themed episode on how Christianity is always morally right, and children who are abused should worship their rapists.

Finding out this comic is an SDCC exclusive is super disappointing.

Marvel really don't care about any fans that aren't rich, privileged, and able bodied with access to transport.

Great for the people at SDCC but most of us will never be as lucky as you few

This is one of *the only* pieces of canon Romy content we have, and it took TWO YEARS of us waiting and hoping to get anything and it's only for the rich and privileged few.

Whistling to himself, Remy descended the stairs tucking the blueprints into his jackets. Stepping back into the night, the fight was still going on the far side of the dock. The sound of metal hitting bone echoed across the marina. Remy shook his head and took a seat on a wooden crate. Reaching into his coat pocket, he pulled out a pack of cigarettes. “You’re not gonna offer to help her?” Julien asked. He leaned against a weathered piling, twirling a knife between his fingers with the ease of someone who’d practiced the motion a thousand times. Remy glanced in Rogue’s direction and snorted. “Non, if we take her fun away from her now, she’ll whoop our asses next. Cigarette?” He held out the pack. “Merci,” Julien sheathed the blade and plucked one out of the carton. Lighting the cigarette, he took a draw off it, still observing the fight. “She ain’t got a lot of finesse, though.” A loud crunching sound rang out, followed by a muffled yelp and a string of colorful expletives. Rogue must have rebroken Matthew’s nose. That was nice. Remy shrugged a shoulder, “What can I say? The femme’s more of a brawler.” Julien hummed in acknowledgment. “Oui, I recall. She flipped me through the door of that jazz club.” “And to this day, it’s one of my favorite memories of you, homme,” Remy smirked. Julien rolled his eyes. Another loud ‘thwack’ echoed across the pier, followed by a pained grunt. Rogue stood over the fallen man, chest heaving. Matthews lay groaning at her feet but made no move to get up. Probably the most intelligent decision he’d ever made. Stomping back towards them, Rogue retracted the bo-staff and tossed it back to him. “Thanks.” “Any time,” Remy replied.

I heard today is a good day to be a Polaris fan! 💚 I was trying to get this done before the new episode dropped and managed to finish it late last night (who needs sleep anyways 💀).

Figuring out how to draw each mutant's powers in this stained glass style is both one of my favorite and least favorite parts. For Polaris I wanted it to look like the debris was exploding outward/forward. I struggled with keeping it from being too busy and drawing the focus away from Polaris.

Ultimately I'm pretty happy with the final result! Though I couldn't decide between the two versions. Which do you prefer?
