Charles Baudelaire, from a letter featured in The Selected Letters of Charles Baudelaire
As the fragrance of coffee beans fills the space around our kitchen counter, winter walks in through the front door -- it's december and hope seems like an illusion again. I'd rather sit in the autumn sunlight from three years back, what do you expect from a vintage heart anyway? Just in case the taste of almost decides to leave my tongue, I've kept a jar of fireflies and a bunch of dried sunflowers beside my bed. The seasons have changed, so has the alignment of the stars -- but what remains the same is this young heart who, three years in future, would rather sit in the autumn sunlight, when it's autumn december and hope seems like an illusion again.

It's January. The world seems softer than it did the last Summer, I realise. Brown eyes never felt so heaven-like, until i saw yours. I am in love. Sunset above the hills, I want to hold onto it. Onto you. Without spilling even a bit. The sky fades into a shade darker, and, the tea in my cup reflects your face. I find it beautiful. I find us beautiful. The moment seems to last. And our love? It seems to last, too.
