My FAVORITE THING is researchers who wholeheartedly embrace the Ms. Frizzle aesthetic and wear their field of study on their literal sleeve. Everyone in the invasive crayfish consortium has tiny lobster-print shorts or socks. All the middle-aged dad scientists here at the lab have shirts with fish and/or fishing tackle patterns on them. My moss specimen and ammonite earrings keep getting noticed by women who are wearing silver fishbone-shaped or native plant-themed earrings themselves. Every single person on the outreach team has at least one shirt with an anchor pattern on it from Old Navy, and almost all the younger researchers have tattoos featuring their research interests – one fisheries biologist has a half-sleeve of native species she literally uses as an outreach tool. We are self-aware and having a blast with it, honestly.
I’m slowly getting back into making things, making things is good.

How do I tell people that sometimes if you turn your shipping brain off you can interact with media better
Y’know when I made this post I was expecting most of the reactions I got but I gotta say. Did not expect to be informed of the community of people shipping Jack and Ralph from Lord of the Flies on this one
biblical womanhood? oh yeah i’m SUPER into biblical womanhood. *hammers a tent peg through ur skull while u sleep*
[Edits of azula without makeup]
She was 14 man
Not gonna lie with the edit it really does drive home that she wasnt a princess or a formidable bender……..it shows that underneath that shes just a child forced to be a pawn.
Someone asked me to edit her crying without make-up, thought i would add. Thank you, i’m glad so many people are seeing exactly what i wanted to get across with those edits! :D
You know what I like about this? Without the make-up Azula looks like Zuko. She has the same chin, the same cheek bones, the same smile, and even the same look of hurt when she’s shamed by her father. But the make-up makes her look like Ozai. A fitting allegory all things considered.
whom else has an infinite source of untapped rage inside them that they can’t direct anywhere
ohhh my god i need enrichment soooo baddddd....... someone PLEASE throw something strange and new into my enclosure!!!!!
Here’s the original thread on twitter, but as someone who has done a lot (a lot a lot) of anonymous fic prompts, I’ve had this happen to me and it absolutely feels exploitative and uncomfortable.
girl help there is not enough enrichment in my enclosure
The mail is the one final hope for resurrecting a dead planet from its ashes, and the letter carriers are the brave soldiers of God in this righteous crusade. They are the defenders of the light of knowledge, free communication, and the exchange of ideas. They are the bold toters of all those little papery conduits of freedom, the white postmarked angels that whisper a message on their deliverance, a promise to the yearning: “There is hope yet.”
Liberty. Reason. Justice. Civility. Edification. Perfection.
MAIL.

I think the best types of gay villains are the ones who still adhere on all levels to the tropes of their genre because in one dnd campaign I ran I had a Sauron-like demonic villain who had a boyfriend (one of the evil-aligned pcs) and it was so fun. Just like “Yes, this twelve foot tall being of bones and fire has eradicated all life on half of the continent. He is also into dudes exclusively”
I want to emphasize that this was not an "Awww he's soft for his boyfriend" wholesome tumblr textpost situation. No, he had the exact attitude toward his boyfriend that a traditional Evil Fantasy King would have toward his queen. He was very "together we shall rule all of Divia" and I think that's fucking great.
