I hope this isn’t a hot take but everyone, regardless of income level, deserves to have nice things in their life and to experience occasional luxury

I want everyone to have access to basic necessities and a high quality-of-life. But I also want people to thrive, and that means more than just the basics. Humans deserve to have good lives! They deserve to live in comfortable homes, and take vacations, and eat a variety of foods, and explore the world they live in, and be surrounded by bright colorful things that make them happy. People deserve to be excited about being alive! They deserve to enjoy the amazing things this world has to offer! And it’s ridiculous that in a world full of this strange new abundance of wealth and wonders and resources—things beyond anything our ancestors could predict!—the majority of the population still struggles just to meet basic needs.

Humans deserve better lives. All of us, not just the ones on top.

Honestly, i agree that everyone should be able to have occasional vacations and reasons to be excited to live, as someone who lives in the smallest 3 bedroom trailer and paying 600 USD for our landlord to not fix the leaks or do something about the wiring (ive already had one electrical fire in my rooms overhead light, and over half of our kitchen no longer has electricity). The only perk is we have central cooling and heating, but with all other bills to pay we can't afford to run the central cause the light bill is already so high on top of car insurance,internet, cable, rent, and house hold necessities (toilet paper, pet food, etc). We're having to use food stamps to not worry about feeding four of us. So yeah, i think things like rent and utilities should be cheaper so those of us who ended with the short end of the stick (I'm aware I'm more fortune than others but still) can have some extra money for vacations, to save up, to help with other things like tuition for post secondary education, and more.

How it feels to grind 3+ hours to finish 20~ pages and you realized you worked on the overall comic for 166.5 hours for the last 2 months.
