Now I cut some of the trees and the whole village is fucking scared "ooooh but what about the witch" I don't care "but what about the Endless" I don't care the fucking trees were eating my house leave me alone if you want your fucking medicine Erin, I am as wild as the forest, don't test someone who knows your allergies.
It seems the woods close to my home are engulfing one of the walls, sad to know the fucking woodworkers are asking too high a price to do their fucking jobs, "we only cut the ones we are allowed" bullshit. I will grab an axe tomorrow and start chopping, the whistling of the new trees is fucking awful
I’m crying my beautiful husband has wrapped the most limp wristed pathetic sickly blunt in the world
How
-2 grams of weed in this bad boy. you smoke this and you get less high
it’s not a blunt it’s a sharp
you light this and it shatters and explodes like a prince ruperts drop
Let's be fair, the Rock is capable of solid line delivery and emotional acting, it's just that he always try stay in his comfort zone of "cool badass action hero" and won't allow his characters to show physical or emotional weakness, limiting his performances.
The Rock has the potential to be a great actor, but his ego is holding him back.
Funny enough I think that’s more scathing
the oceangate rabbithole is un-fucking-paralleled. what do you mean they left that thing outside in the snow in canada for the entire fucking winter. of course it imploded literally the next time they put it in the water. holy shit.
there's a video now of the moment it imploded where the topside ship hears this incredibly loud bang from outside the ship (ie, not on monitoring or microphones) and that's bad in itself but the only reason the people topside didn't freak out more was because the exact same thing had happened 8 dives earlier on dive 80. and they also knew using their own monitoring systems that the bang they heard had fucked the hull in some capacity. and then they still left it outside for the entire winter.
they tested the tin can carbon fiber hull with people inside it. not even oceangate people. regular civilians. after their first test model had imploded.
STOCKTON RUSH DESCRIBED THE TERRIFYING POPPING AND CRACKING SOUNDS AS THE HULL BEING "SEASONED" BY THE CARBON FIBERS. LIKE A CAST IRON PAN. LIKE A WOK. SEASONED.
I just spent like 10+ hours on a last ditch effort to make our Introduction to Data Sci group project work, I was in charge of the presentation design so after I see the graphs and code I notice we are going to fail miserably if we present that group project, anyways, we solved it, but I have a bad headache and an exam tomorrow, wish me luck
one of my side hobbies that i occasionally lose an afternoon to is scouring the internet for vintage, slice of life style comics where I can get incredibly specific glimpses into life from decades ago, right? i like my W K Haselden, my George Macmanus, my Tim Barela.
I was recently browsing through some archival Gerard Donelan and I found this series of comics someone archived from the Advocate, from July of '79. I'm FASCINATED by the animal comparisons, since the only modern day analog that's stayed entirely intact seems to be bears:
there is some archetypal stuff/stereotype that's pulled through to this day but I'm fascinated by how the economic and cultural bleed of 1970s america vs today has wholly affected the ability for these archetypes to sustain themselves
I remember how everyone laughed at this tweet, and although I like DE in all its dramatic and depressive glory, as well as many other such games, I really don't understand the amount of contempt for sweet, cozy, relaxing ones. It's true: they rarely get DE's level of world development, psychology and writing. But that's the point: they, too, deserve it! And I sympathized with the OP's desire for something like this, because even while I enjoy exploring dark worlds and heart-wrenching stories, there is also a big need for ones that would ease anxiety and pain instead of just endlessly resonating with it. Especially at the end of a hard day or when everything seems too bleak to add fictional bleakness on top of it.
That's why I'm curious about Mandrake, FBG's new game. I admire – and trust – their narrative skills, seriousness and diligence. It's certainly doesn't look like their usual stuff; however, the promise of mysteries, deep characters and folklore is what I can totally believe when it comes to them, so it's bound to be much more than an average game of this cutesy kind.
Of course, some part of me will still expect a sudden glimpse or The Path-style full shift to surreal horror at any moment (and I would be delighted), but it's alright if there won't be one.
i cannot stress how bonkers it is to us that this witch in the alps meme is emerging in the responses to the game announcement; we’ve been working on mandrake (in the background initially and recently quite a lot) since 2020
still, the point about how seriously we take our work is well made! hahah
The nation’s ultrawealthy are starting to lay low, according to their therapists, financial advisers, and real-estate agents.
Gosh.
Must be rough for them.
lmao
This post legitimately knocked me out of a doomscroll. Had to put down my phone and everything and stare at a wall.
I really do regret my inaction the most. Every time. All of my future problems are always caused by things I failed to do in the present. And every time, I get so mad at past Me for not even trying because I’m so afraid to fail.
Like. Damn. Didn’t expect pixel art of some planets to hit me so hard.
you ever meet a guy you just KNOW would get enthralled by the amulet 🙄
I think you're just jealous of how happy we are together
the thing about every post that discusses how women being expected to remove their body hair is bullshit is that the post then gets a bunch of well-meaning but very wrong replies that are like "yeah!! shaving was invented by Big Razor in the 20th century! no women ever removed any body hair before that!" and it's like. okay. well that's blatantly very untrue but now I'm going to look like the asshole if I point that out
the OTHER thing about every post that discusses the removal of body hair is that someone will come sprinting out of the woodwork to make sure this absolute nothingburger is in the replies as well
this also happens to every post about not wearing makeup. not that I would have any firsthand experience with that.
Need to deploy some sort of mandatory seminar to IT people, "How to make your security upgrade instructions not look like a phishing email"
one time, my mom told us how an IT person at work had literally asked her to read out her password over the phone, and she was so sure it couldn’t be real that she hung up, walked over to the IT department in a different building, and asked the guy “are you serious?” in person
and unfortunately he was
i tried the “ask your mom what she would do if you were a bug” trend
asked my dad too
hey Elvis is the glass half full or half empty to you?
Woah mama it depends on whether you're filling or emptying
Endless optimism is a foolish way to look at the world, unable to see the strife and suffering. Endless pessimism will never make anyone happy, especially not you. You need to take the good and the bad, the dark and the light, the full and the empty. Hummina hummina hummina
so, if it was previously empty, and you add half water, its half full, but if it was previously full, and then you take half away, its half empty, is what your saying?
Woah mama the glass is always half full and half empty. It's what you do with the glass that determines the state it's in, literally and metaphorically. Any situation will be only what you make of it. *Wise hip thrust*
