Oh Iâm sorry, what were you saying?
Much truth.
How to stop using "fat" as an insult
When insulting someone, donât bring âfatâ into it. Donât bring any body type into it. If youâre insulting someone, their body does not matter. Bad traits lie only in someones personality. Conceitedness is not restricted to any body type. Anyone can be conceited and itâs not about the size of their body.
If youâre feeling down about yourself, donât use âfatâ negatively. Accepting fatness for yourself helps clean out more fatphobia towards others. Itâs okay to want a certain look, but fat is not the negative look. It is just a look.
Let fat people call themselves fat. Gradually use it as a regular adjective. âYouâre not fat, youâre beautiful!â is so obviously fatphobic. Fat people are beautiful.Â
Start seeing fat people as beautiful. Some of us have the initial thought society has told us to think, but cancel that out immediately. Fat people have a place in this world. They have a right to enjoy things just as much as anyone else. They are no different than anyone else. They just look different. Stop removing from the norm. They are just as much a part of this society as anyone else.
Stop thinking thin equals healthy. Plenty of thin people might as well eat radioactive garbage, but because theyâre thin, most people donât think twice about it. Stop acting like weight is the problem. Weight is not the problem.
Stop thinking people look better thin. This may be the hardest one, but itâs the biggest problem. âHave you lost weight? You look great!â is fatphobic in disguise. Like I said, thin does not equal healthy. Which means losing weight does not equal getting healthier. More times than youâd think, losing weight is very unhealthy because people use unhealthy diets and lose muscle instead of fat. If you notice someones strength/endurance increase, that is what you compliment. Understand health is about performance, not about appearance.
Accept people for how they look, not just who they are.Â
Also stop thinking that health is a trait you get to judge people by. You have no idea what other peopleâs health status is, and itâs none of your business, nor is it a moral or ethical matter.
TRUTH
I am in love with my new Pert creepster necklace from @BHCreatives! đđđ
