MUSING: Character Color Scheme Moodboard
Malachi Tomás Bartolomé
[Vince zipped up his suitcase, tossing it on the bed while he finished packing up his carry on bag as well. He turned his head to look at Chi with a smile]
Excited for Europe? [He asked, putting a couple books in the bag incase he wanted to try and read those while on the plane] It's going to be a long flight there which I'm not looking forward to but I think it'll be worth it.
@malachianderson
[Chi was sitting at his vanity. He had packed the moment Vince mentioned an international trip for their anniversary, so there was nothing left for him to personally do the morning of.]
What kind of question is that? Of course I'm excited! I'd be more excited if you told me exactly where we're going though, [He tried again, being sure to batt his eyes lovingly at Vince to really try to seal the deal.] The secret to a long flight is audiobooks and sleep, Ken. It's honestly pretty easy.
Of course we own a cast iron skillet. And the griddle you bought forever ago is cast iron, too.
It's just what it's called to make it so nothing sticks, Ken. You basically just rub it with oil.
Oh... [Vince said, processing everything as he looked out the window as some people walked by]
Who knew cast irons would be such a topic of interest for you, [Chi mused easily.
Oh. [Chi chuckled gently.]
No, Kenny. That's outdated information. That used to be true years ago--like back when my Lola was our age--because back then, soap was a lot stronger and contained ingredients that would strip the cast iron.
Regular soap that you get from the store isn't like that anymore. So you can use soap. I still prefer not to if I can since it does take away a little bit of the seasoning, but for a tough stain? I probably wouldn't soak it, but sure. I'd use it.
Hmm [Vince hummed, listening to him as he took a drink]
Ya learn something new every day. Do we even own a cast iron pan? And I still don't get what it means to season the pan. You're not putting like salt or garlic powder or anything on it so why is it called that?

Vince, you can absolutely clean a cast iron skillet like normal if you want.
I thought you couldn't use soap on it...
Oh. [Chi chuckled gently.]

Why would you use a Foreman grill when a cast iron skillet grills things just fine and doesn't dry it out?
Well one, my dorm didn't have an actual kitchen let alone a full stove. And two, I learned what that was when we started dating. And three... I still don't understand how those work since you don't clean it like normal.
Vince, you can absolutely clean a cast iron skillet like normal if you want.
Vince, you'd rather die than cook most of the time.
Yes but there was a time when I first started college and did football and baseball and thought just eating grilled chicken was a good idea. So I bought one of those George Forman grill things and used that in my dorm room. It was a time. A time filled with lots of very dry and burned chicken.
Why would you use a Foreman grill when a cast iron skillet grills things just fine and doesn't dry it out?
That's... true. [Chi hummed in surprise at Vince.] Since when do you know that?
I've made grilled chicken before. [Vince shrugged a little]
Vince, you'd rather die than cook most of the time.
[Chi shrugged gently as he started to suck down his margarita.] I mean... it was chicken. I think it'd be difficult to really mess up chicken.
Chicken dries out really easily.
That's... true. [Chi hummed in surprise at Vince.] Since when do you know that?
[Chi nodded and put down his half-eaten sandwich (quite a feat for him, honestly) so he could finally start on his margarita.]
[Vince smiled, just watching the other as he finished off his own food]
Was your sandwich good?
[Chi shrugged gently as he started to suck down his margarita.] I mean... it was chicken. I think it'd be difficult to really mess up chicken.
[Chi shrugged again.] You're funny when you want to be.
I can live with that.
[Chi nodded and put down his half-eaten sandwich (quite a feat for him, honestly) so he could finally start on his margarita.]
I never said you weren't funny, [Chi said with a shrug.]
No, but I don't think I'm very funny.
[Chi shrugged again.] You're funny when you want to be.
And the fact that he's insufferably unfunny?
There's that too. I'm glad you think I'm funny though. [Vince grinned, eating another fry]
I never said you weren't funny, [Chi said with a shrug.]
Ew. You do not look like Adam Sandler. I would not be married to Adam Sandler.
[Vince couldn't help but laugh, popping a fry in his mouth]
Because of the clothes?
And the fact that he's insufferably unfunny?
For the hundredth time, Vince. The clothes I make for you are comfy.
They are. I'll give you that. But they're not my normal Adam Sandler look.
Ew. You do not look like Adam Sandler. I would not be married to Adam Sandler.
You say that as if you don't still complain constantly about it, [Chi sassed right back.]
I cannot deny that accusation. I'm a comfy clothes guy... what can I say?
For the hundredth time, Vince. The clothes I make for you are comfy.
I can't believe I got tricked into marrying such a goober, [Chi continued to joke.]
Tell me about it. How did I marry someone who makes me wear real pants? [Vince asked with a smile on his face, the ease behind joking around coming back naturally]
You say that as if you don't still complain constantly about it, [Chi sassed right back.]
