I should probably explain this story.

This was probably the only time I used my autoimmune disease to get anything. Kids in school and teachers praised me for never using my Diabetes as a means to get anything or get out of anything.

I used my Diabetes to get me a spot in telling Nickelodeon magazine what I thought about them for a year. I played that card and the “I never win anything” card. I lost my mind when I got the info that I was one of the kids selected.  They offered you things for the completion of certain months and I had no idea what the hell a manga was so I passed up a couple of opportunities on getting my hand on those. By the end I was sick and tired of it and I’m pretty sure I delayed them by a month because I pretended I didn’t get one of the issues and they sent me another one just so I would complete it. In the end I got a nickelodeon shirt that I wore so proudly at the end of my 6th grade, but I was so fed up at that point. I also used to draw on the back of their questionnaires saying thank you but that last issue questionnaire was such a bullshit thank you and I remember it being sloppy as fuck lmao
