Today is Day 3, and I say Po and Tigress are in a QPR!
(Side note: I’ve seen movies 1-3, I haven’t seen movie 4 or the side series. I think I saw Scrolls of Awsomeness but don’t remember very well)
Throughout the series, we see their relationship start very rocky. (To be fair, a random dude fell out of nowhere was proclaimed the Dragon Warrior meanwhile girl literally trained for a moment like this since she was a tiny cub and was very close to be being chosen.) However, by the end of the first movie, Tigress is seen to have a respect for Po. Meanwhile from the beginning of the movie, Po was a fanboy of her, so admiration and respect was usually present.
By the second movie, it’s very obvious that the two were already good friends. So much so, that Po was in sync with her when fighting and called to her the most.
Later, they start to be more vulnerable with each other, with Po revealing to Tigress what was bothering him about Shen and Tigress showing Po affection and comfort. To the other Furious Five, it was a surprise to see her comfort Po.
Romance wasn’t really the focus, it was the two learning that they can be emotionally open with each other. That they’ll take care of each other no matter what.
At the end of the movie, they became closer but not in any romantically hinted way.
In the third movie, their relationship remains mostly unchanged. The two are definitely close friends throughout the movie. If there was any form of romantic attraction to one another, I think the writers would’ve showed something by the 3rd movie.
Instead, we see Po treat her as one of his closest friends by being himself (reminder that he was trying to act ‘hardcore’ in movie 2) and letting out his insecurities, and obviously supporting her in training/battle. Meanwhile Tigress treats him the same by sparring, talking to him vulnerably, and some light teasing.
While I’m unsure what their attractions/lack thereof/sexualities are, it’s clear that the two hold a special bond. Hence, why I say they are a QPR.
Add on headcannon for their QPR relationship
* The two plan special hangouts, just surrounding the two of them. For a while, the other Furious Five thought they were dating. When they asked about their ‘dates’, Po explained to them their special hangouts outs. The two literally just assigned certain days to do activities or just chill. The team still thought they were secretly dating and just denying it until they followed them one day and saw them eat snacks and spar. After that they decided they weren’t going on dates.
* Tigress is actually more of a cuddler than Po is. She cuddles him more when they’re alone. Po doesn’t mind at all since he’s a hugger himself.
* Sometimes when they spar, they’ll slowly turn it into a dance to play around.
