I theorize that John was given the first half of the second death ritual as a child in the basement with Miriam bell, like Amy was given her first half at Gary's party at the clinic, & then Amy is given the second half in ch1, & John is given the second half when u mortis in ch3. That's why he's described as a husk. That's why when his ch2 reflection (the mirror demon? OMG WAIT*) stabs him in the eye, the other mask dims. Ok so *I just realized, the mirror demon is heavily associated with John himself, his stay at the mental facility, his own angry convictions (as seen in the weird article that starts talking directly to Ward & ends with 666 in a cross, "kill her" written inverted, & "repent" after the injection,) & I think it could be the demon that is possessing him.

garcia is such a mysterious character and i know its by design, but i wanna know more soooo bad. like how did he come to know about the eternal order of the second death, when and why did he fully invest himself in the mission as a renegade priest... and how he got into contact with john in the first place!!!

if that SH1 style prequel concept is legit and those story elements are on the table, i am so down

like him being a landlord comes with a big scope of control and obviously ties into astaroth's laziness, but the idea of him being this schmoozer at a rental lot while also running a cult feels arguably more of-the-era
