What is going on??

So...I decided I really needed a bed, and I really needed a fridge. I went with Renee and Gary shopping for both. As we were checking out at the fridge place, I received a notice stating that school was closed for the week due to the governors orders. I was a little confused but then I remembered there was a virus going around called, COVID-19 (also known as corona virus). I went home and told the kids and of course they were super happy, but I kind of left me wondering. What next?

I needed to go grocery shopping and decided to just hit up Walmart. It was close by and I was beat. We walked in and it was literally a shit show. People were in a panic. People were mean. People were hoarding. It was a very unsettling sight. We got what we needed to get and left. As we walked out, I was forced to wonder...what now?

Starting over...

Today, the kids and I decided it was time to start over again. My incredible family and the best friend anyone could ask for, they helped the kids and I move out and into our own space. It’s small. It’s hot. It’s cramped, but it’s ours. It’s in the village and I’ve started exercising regularly, so I’m now able to run. Here’s to starting over and finding our happiness!

The truth. The truth is, I haven’t blogged in a VERY long time. We’re officially into February and I’m currently living my best SINGLE MOM life (insert sarcasm). So far 2020 has taught me to find my self worth and to find my happiness. Picking up the pieces to a broken heart and confused children hasn’t been easy. It’s been about as difficult as being a #singlemom. I will say this, I will get through these trials and tribulations, my friends, my family, and God right by my side.

New Year, new me!! (Maybe...)

So the new year is upon us. 2019 was an interesting year that didn’t treat us too awful bad, but it didn’t treat us too well. We hit a lot of highs and lows in ‘19, and I’ve had time to reflect on each and every one of them and it’s time for me to make some changes. Starting with my body. My body is absolutely not where I want it to be. Am I going to have a flat as a board tummy again? Probably not, but it can be flatter. Starting with my eating habits. Just this week, I have ate out 4 times...4 freaking times. Starting with the gym. The gym is new to me, but Stephen bought me a membership, therefore I must go. The motivation to do so is there. Time management is huge. I need to make sure not only at work, but at home, that I’m utilizing every minute of the day to accomplish each task in a timely fashion. I’m guilty of this.

That said, a new year new me is around the corner. Stick around for the upcoming progress on my weight loss journey, my time management strategy, and as always, maintaining my sanity!

MY TURN!!

Take care of yourself! I went to the HFL wrestling tournament with Steve to keep score and cheer the boys on (even though neither of my boys wrestled). That said, I was wheezing and coughing, felt a little flush but nothing horrid. Steve suggested we stop at the urgent care (as I have been trying to do since last week). We swung in there and low and behold...good ole pneumonia. I knew it.

The point of this one is to stress, even though your littles get sick, make sure you’re taking care of you! They need a healthy mama to take care of them. Listen to your body and don’t be like me!

The scariest thing ever...

We enjoyed Christmas Day to the most. KC had been sick with pneumonia for 10 days prior to Christmas Day, but was on medication for it. He didn’t seem to be getting better but after 3 doctors visits and 1 ER visit we thought he would be on the mend.

Wrong!

Steve got home from work on Christmas night at 11:30, I was up with kc because he was coughing and vomiting from coughing and all around sick with a fever. Steve tried relieving me but I needed to be with him. I remember Steve telling me to go to bed and he would stay up with him. I told him it was fine. Next thing we know, KC starts coughing and throwing up again, this time his fever was 102.5. Steve suggested we go to the hospital, and I didn’t argue.

We got to the hospital at 2:30AM, long story short, after 8.5 hours in the ED, they finally admitted KC with atypical bacterial pneumonia. 3 awfully long days in the hospital.

I entitled this “the scariest thing ever” because I watched my son almost die. He was drowning internally and he was fully infected. If hadn’t been taken in when he did and we waited and did what the doctors said, he would have died. Below is the detailed version of how the one night was that I was alone with him:

After enduring what was the longest night of my life (fully awake for 27.5 hours), I appreciate KC a little bit more. I can’t imagine my life without him, and the bond that we have will never be broke!
