"Tony, we need to talk." Maria said softly.

“Yeah, Mom? What about?” Tony replied to his mother curiously, what could it be that she wanted to talk about.

Tony smiled at his mother nervously when she started to speak, his brow furrowed and listened to her as she spoke. “What are you trying to say mom? I am living my own life.” he said confused by what it was she was saying, “Where is this coming from? why do you feel like you're holding me back?” he asked her trying to understand why she was saying these things. 

He was worried about losing his mother, he loved her so much and wouldn't dream of letting her go, he didn't care what the cost was to him he didn't want to lose her. “Mom I’m not putting my life on hold for you. You have to know that no matter what I would do anything for you.” he said arguing what she was saying.

Maria sighed softly as she looked up at him shrugging her shoulders.

“I am holding your back. You’re constantly babysitting and worrying about me and you shouldn’t have to.” 

She couldn’t blame him she would be worried about herself too, but still he desevered to be living his life without having to shadow over her. 

“At least let me look at apartments or something that way you can at least have your house back?” she smiled softly.

“We can always say we built it he might believe it for a little while.” Maria grinned.

Tony snickered.  “See how observant he is.  If it’s not in a technical manual, he doesn’t want to see it.”

“We can take some of his stuff and put it on the snowman.” Maria grinned up at Tony.

“It’s the year 2020.  I’m sorry… I had to bring you with me.  If you’d gone on that drive with Dad, you would have died.”

“So he’s defiantly  a magical alpacacorn.” Maria smiled looking at the unicorn horn and wings

“Definitely,” said Morgan.  “Except alpacacorns don’t really exist.  But narwhals do!”  She pulled out another toy.  “The real ones don’t look like this.  Daddy says maybe someday we’ll go to the arctic and see real ones.”  She offered her grandmother the narwhal toy.

“I have seen real ones, and they’re alot bigger than that I can assure you.” Maria grinned looking at the narwhal.

She figured she could give her the whole story later, she wasn’t sure she could go into detail about Her and Howard’s trip at the moment.

She gently picked up the elephant petting it on the hand gently.

“Over here I have Magic the Alpacacorn,” said Morgan, pulling out a rainbow-coloured toy.  “He’s an alpaca, but he has a unicorn horn and wings, see?”

so between working full time and college I'm Loki dying. I’m starting clinicals soon too so sos me. But I’m here just a little late and slow at replies, but I’m here.

“Oh, wow it’s very nice.” Maria commented as Morgan opened the door.

She walked over to where Morgan grabbed the owl and smiled softly at the owl.

“He looks like we imagined him to look. I assume all of them have names?” Maria asked walking over to where a stuffed elephant was on the shelf.

“Yes,” said Morgan.  “The elephant’s name is Mr. Tusks.  You can hug him while you nap if you want.”

“I might take you up on that. Thank you.” Maria smiled softly.

“I agree with Jarvis on that one. Your dad might be a little upset if we put out a giant inflatable snowman, However I think it would look adorable especially if it really snows.” Maria grinned up at him.

To be honest Jarvis had a point, Howard probably wouldn’t even notice it right away and they could get away with it for a while.

“Or a giant Santa? Either or.”

“The snowman will blend in better with the actual snow,” said Tony with a mischievous grin.  “It’ll take him longer to spot it.”

“We can always say we built it he might believe it for a little while.” Maria grinned.

“Come on Morgan you can show me all your stuffed animals.” Maria smiled as she took her granddaughter’s hand and walked with her upstairs.

Morgan eagerly led her grandmother upstairs.  “This is my room,” she said, opening the door.  “I keep my animals over there… the owl is Hedwig from Harry Potter.”  She ran over to take the plush owl down from the shelf.

“Oh, wow it’s very nice.” Maria commented as Morgan opened the door.

She walked over to where Morgan grabbed the owl and smiled softly at the owl.

“He looks like we imagined him to look. I assume all of them have names?” Maria asked walking over to where a stuffed elephant was on the shelf.

“Of course we missed you. It was far to quiet.” Maria smiled as they walked closer to the house.

“Do you like what I did with the decorations outside?” Maria asked smiling brightly at him.

“Yeah,” said Tony, smiling at the lights - his Mom’s smile immediately made him feel better.  “We really need one of those giant inflatable snowmen.”

“I’m not sure Mr. Stark would approve of that,” said Jarvis, “but we might put one out and see if he notices.”

Maria grinned as she took the flowers and the baked goods inside as Tony and Jarvis followed in behind her.

“She’s been up baking since early this morning, and wouldn’t take no for an answer.” Maria grinned.

“It’s good to know somebody missed me,” said Tony with a grin.  Mom, Jarvis, and Anna always made him feel so welcome... then Dad would come home, and the whole place would just seem to freeze.  Even thinking about it made his face fall.

It still felt like a weird fever dream, and maybe going into town and seeing other people would help it all sink in.

“Thank you, for letting me stay and for being understanding about all of this.”

“No problem.  Morgan, why don’t you show Grandma upstairs,” said Tony.

“Okay!”  Morgan took her grandmother’s hand.

Tony glanced at the window - he was pretty sure he could hear Pepper’s car coming.  He hoped she wouldn’t be too mad.
