Like I hate to say it but if you can’t engage with any media without descending into full-on fandom-style shipping at the expense of the themes, characterization, non-romantic relationships, and general content of the work. You might need to take a step back from shipping and maybe fandom in general. (Also to the people in the notes of this post who are acting like I said shipping in general is terrible: What this post is saying is that if you interact with all media exclusively through a shipping lens you miss a lot of stuff. I’m not saying don’t ship things, I’m saying use your critical thinking skills.)

all these posts about people clutching their pearls about seeing bare titties at pride make me laugh because at last year’s pride i met a cishet guy who had no idea what was going on and had joined because he saw bare titties and thought “those people look like they are having fun, and also i can see tits for free” and he asked me about what was happening and let me explain LGBT struggles for some time before telling me he had a transgender cousin and he was going to make sure to be there for her in the future. bare tits will be the beacon to world peace

thinking abt dc trinity at an arcade together and bleeding thru their personas over the course of their outing coz of competitiveness/inability to let annoyingly loud and bright console pull one over them

diana really wants to go because she’s under the impression the games are like herculean tasks. clark is keen because he never got to be part of fun carnival games as a kid and figures it’ll be fun to do it with friends who know who he is. bruce is dragged along as tour guide (< also never went to an arcade but he’s not telling)/damage control. also alfred thought it sounded like a super fun outing with his bffs <3 and locked him out of the batcave.

as soon as they enter, clark is like, ‘Oogh. I Don’t Feel Too Good’ and they have to be this Inconspicuous Group Of Tall People lurking at the entrance coz clark has to take a minute. clark vc no-one told me how bright and loud it was going to be :(

[conversation they had prior] “arcades are annoying. and bright. and loud. you probably won’t like it.” “i’ll be fine, b. it sounds like fun!” “it’s not. it’s really bright and loud.” “you’re just trying to get out of this” “[silence of a man who can’t deny it without lying]”

 diana demurely insists that one of the other two play when someone else happens to look over but as soon as the attention is off them, she takes to it like a fucking champ. doesn’t matter what the game is. she’s nailing the hoop throws, she’s dominating the table hockey game, head shots with laser archery. her aim is to systematically get herself on every leaderboard as WonderWomanFTW (she thinks it’s funny)

clark and bruce limp-wrist their entire way through the first few games until bruce implies that poor country boy clark probably still feels a little dizzy from all the bright flashing big city lights <3 and clark is like. diana what’s a good alias to put on the leaderboards. i’m going to need one.

her first try makes the ball ramp up into the fucking ceiling. all of three of them just look at the hole until bruce is like hmmm. try again. she breaks it on the second go. the first ball does fall out of the ceiling to land in the 100pt ring though
