This story was a writing/comicking experiment and the first time Iād written full on a āfanfictionā since I was a young girl. It follows the premise if āWhat ifā William Birkin was able to regain control of himself during the early stages of his mutation. What ensued was the tale of an unlikely partnership and the desperate scramble of a father trying to get his wife and daughter out of Raccoon City.
I still have many potent feels, and much gratitude, for the 4-6 month fugue state I sunk into while delving into this fandom and getting to let this story out of my soul. Thank you to everyone who followed it TnT.
What if redeemed!Birkin had a run-in with mutated Alexia ashford?
That would be a really cool encounter. I imagine Alexia would utterly kick his ass though. 'Stable' G-type or not, Alexia is hands down one of the most powerful villains to have existed in the RE Franchise. But it would have been fucking cool to do an RP where we all had to go to Antarctica and deal with not only the oppressive cold but nosferatu and all of the weird shit there.
Let alone poor Alfred Ashford, christ. I miss those RP days, we had fun.

The BOWvengers
So the idea of William surviving Raccoon City and living with the G-Virus after the events of the story was an idea I had floated for awhile. But āBOWvengersā really was birthed by the small RE community that formed on the NEST Discord server. The premise being that the BSAA formed a division for BOWs recovered from Umbrella or other Terrorist organizations and rehabilitated.
As of right now, I do not consider āBOWvengersā to be part of the original comicās timeline (Iāve not found a way to really knit the story together, as BOWvengers takes place several years after the events of Raccoon City. Thereās also the issue of keeping the original story as itās own standalone message.) THATāS NOT TO SAY that it isnāt one of the most fun and rewarding art and RP storylines that Iāve ever had!

Scenes from the AU that sprang out of our Discord Server. Jokingly dubbed āBOWvengersā because it centers around characters, canon and original, that can turn into/are monsters that work under the BSAA as anti-BOW operatives.
The battles are epic. The relationships that are forming are cool and interesting. Itās been a really good ride so far and itās only just gotten started!
Iāve decided that this wonāt be the ācanonā continuation of my comic to free myself to take that story where I feel it should go. But that doesnāt mean I wonāt continue to play around with this. Who knows! This really has taken on a life of itās own.

Potential idea for the far far future of the redeemed AU. Iāve gotten way more attached to this āBig Billā alternate G3 form than I should have. I love his stupid hair.
Watched Resident Evil: Degeneration again recently and got an idea for this scene that I couldnāt get out of my head.
Insert headcanon about Frederick Downing having worked at NEST under William. And the two having hated each other in the way that rival scientists in this setting tend to do. Frederick came from a family with some esteem in Umbrella, but had never produced anything remotely ground breaking enough to earn his aristocratic standing. Whereas Birkin, who despite being a child prodigy, also came from a middle class family of nobodies. And was repeatedly denied access to higher status within Umbrellaās corporate structure. William had never been good at hiding his feelings and made his opinions plain. But Frederick was calm and composed, even graceful. Infuriatingly charming enough that the only person who ever seemed to have a problem with him is William. Even Annette doubted him.
Shortly before the Raccoon City incident, Frederick gained access to some stored viral samples, one of which being an older version of the G-Virus, with which he escaped.
Cut to nearly twenty years later, the events from Degeneration happen. Frederick is in his early 50ā²s and thinking heās finally ready to retire from this life. He makeās arrangements to sell he T-Virus to Miguel Grande in return for a hefty chunk of change and is apprehended by Claire, Leon and Angela.
Heās put in cuffs, thrown in a cop car and turns to see his old boss sitting next to him in the back seat. Butt ass naked, covered in sweat, eating ice cream and in general looking very tired and pissed. William is actively working with the BSAA at this point in the AU, and had recently changed back after being deployed to help deal with the mess at the Harvardville Airport. You know, giant monsters that can yeet zombies into orbit and lift massive pieces of rubble can be handy! But heās not here for that right now.
He heard about how his āOld Friend Frederick Downingā is in town and Ooooh boy was he excited to come have a chat let me tell you. Birkin, by this point, is probably close to or in his early 50ā²s, though he doesnāt look it. All the weariness and sass of an old man combined with the fact that he still acts like a teenager when it comes to grudges. Because of course.
Donāt mind me Iām neck deep in the middle of being obsessed with this AU and yaāll are going to have to deal with me.
