My own character Alistair Reyes, Main character of my story and also the one that i begun my story with! <3 Tbh i made the lineart on my pc and finished it with procreate to test some new light and glow effects in procreate so it may look bit rough around the edges but i still like how his design turned out soooo

I see a lot of positivity posts about 12-year-olds just learning to draw.  Posts cautioning us to be mindful of 11-year-olds with no grasp of anatomy and 13-year-olds whose characters are all the same person with different hair and clothes, and I love those posts.  Those are great posts.  Keep those posts coming, tumblr.

But can I ask, what about the 25-year-old who just bought their first ever sketchbook?  What about the 32-year-old who’s been drawing for a month and has just about got the hang of a human-looking face?  What about the 67-year-old who finally has time to sit down and learn how to paint like they’ve always wanted?

Not everyone starts drawing as a child.  Not everyone learned as a preteen.  Some people start in college.  Some people start when their career is going well and they feel like it’s time for a new hobby.  Some people start after they’ve retired.

Not all beginner artists are kids, and I just think the adults ones deserve some encouragement, too.

Got myself an ipad and procreate and the first thing i made was a simple drawing of my own character of a story of mine,the name most people know her by is Neva. Her yellow eyes are because of her powers which she got as a teen. Its a whole story that i someday hope to write out more and post on my writing tumblr!

Found an old sketch of my Own character of an story i’m writing. Decided to finally finish it! This is Helena Reyes, second youngest of the Reyes siblings, Created and cursed to forever be Sloth from the seven deadly sins. Listens mostly to music to drown out her siblings. Will not help when you ask, unless its something she can do from home then she may consider it. Likes to take strolls around schools and workplaces to make people feel sleepy and lazy during their workday. but thats probably the most and only active thing you will catch her doing.

Had a winx mood and decided to draw my favorite when i was a child!

wanted to draw Ariel because mermay. Ended up drawing her as a human instead of a mermaid oh wel This whole drawing feels like quite different from my style but if i look at other arts and this one the style was there already slowly developing. so i guess its the shading that makes it feel completely different?? Ah well this is also a new shading style that i absolutely fell in love with!

my first mermay post! excited to finally participate in a mermay! Again trying a shading technique don’t be too harsh for it, still have to practice before it gets perfect ya know? but alas enjoy my mermaid!

My second fave disney prince  Disney gave me such unrealistic expectations for men with their princes. another trying to draw disney art piece. Made him just a while after Naveen and just before i got into a small hiatus because of life getting in the way. But seeing this next to my newest disney piece (Peter Pan) i can already see some improvements in coloring and drawing!

Prince Naveen! Made this one around dec 2020 so not too long ago. was my first time trying out to draw a disney character and ever since i love to draw Disney characters. So next to being my fave disney character Naveen is also the start of me getting back into drawing, and a new found way of drawing and coloring <3 So small tip from me to all of you who are learning to draw take a reference in the style you like, pick a picture and keep it on the side while trying to redraw it. no tracing really drawing next to it. you will slowly notice more and more things the more you practice!

Made this peter pan sketch a couple months ago but finally found the time to finish it with some new shading techniques that i wanted to try for a realll long time. I really loved how it turned out, now onto the next Disney art!
