“Then I’ll just scalp you and wear it myself.”
"You're not listening!! It won't work with your face, it'll be a mess!"
“Hm. Amusing that you think so. How many smurfs will I have to kill to get hair dye that color?”
"You could kill all the Smurfs in the world and it would still be no good. Let's face it. This is just something you're never pulling off."
"I’m going to style my hair like Maester Seymour Guado’s."
"And you will make a fool of yourself. This style only works in blue."
"I had always assumed that to be rather fruitless activity. Tell me, what is to be gained from all this?"
The sky blue armor slowly approached the pondering man, it’s golden sword held as though it were a can. Stopping behind the man, it let out a sigh as a green puff of smoke escaped from it’s seemingly empty visor.
“Indeed it is, like all things, happiness is meaningless. The body shall one day wither away unto nothingness and be without all that it has strived to achieve. Friendship, wealth, happiness… It all shall one day be pulled from your grasps and thrown into the Void."
"What is this Void you speak of?" Seymour turned to face the towering figure, not sparing even a moment to ponder upon its lack of humanity, or its entirely ambiguous form. Regardless, he was somewhat startled its sudden arrival. He hadn't expected an audience of any sort for he had been speaking to himself as a means of whittling away the time. There was great boredom to be found in an existence without direction, after all. "Though I cannot say I agree quite so entirely. The focus should not be on what good things will be taken from you when you die but, rather, what terrible things you leave behind. Despair has spread like an epidemic, relentless and crippling, and all sentient beings have found themselves plagued by it."
In the Wood
"Come on, Fat Chocobo, we’ll find a good place to rest soon." Rydia’s voie traveled far across the empty plain, her boots scuffing softly against the plush hues of green. This place reminded her of the fields back home, where she could watch her mother’s work and practice alongside her.
The brightly-feathered mount beside her gave a warrrrk in confusion, his feet clapping down on the grass he so desperately wanted to eat. It had been quite some time since they’d come upon and drinkable water, though creating ice to melt was always an option. Rydia found that ice created by magic tasted a little bitter, though. Like it had been sitting in the dirt for far too long and had lost any semblance of water flavoring.
In the distance, her keen eyes picked out a few sprigs of blue among the green. Those sprigs appeared next to a sort of dirt-made walkway, belonging to a humanoid of some sort. Part of her wondered if he was actually an Eidolon with how otherworldly he looked, but the urging of her feet brought her closer and closer, Fat Chocobo by her side. They would have passed each other either way, but if this man stood so close to a road, it was very possible that he knew exactly where they were… or at least where she could go.
"Excuse me," she spoke up, examining the way he reached out to the plant across from him. It was a sad and withered tree, old-looking and dead in its own way. Instinctively she eyed the way his fingers were tipped, letting herself then travel to the odd lines across his features. Were those veins? Location forgotten, her lips formed new words: “Are you an Eidolon, sir?”
The girl was a curious sight to behold for, while she seemed human enough, there was something there...something that suggested that it wasn't quite as simple as that. The bird hardly helped her case -- as far as Seymour knew, dragging a chocobo around was hardly commonplace. To think he'd had his train of thought thrown off track by something so bizarre and meaningless! He at once wondered what hardships she had faced in her lifetime -- she did not look to be a simple person making their way through a comfortable and sheltered life.
She looked lost yet so at home in the shrubbery, as though the surroundings were something with which she was fairly familiar. Seymour had seen plenty of forests in Spira yet none were quite like this. It was a meagre place that paled hideously in comparison to the beauty of Macalania Woods, a truly gorgeous place filled to brim with curiosities and wonder. What Seymour saw around him was little more than a cluster of dead trees. It was a pathetic sight, to say the very least.
"I'm afraid I can't answer that, having no clue as to what an Eidolon could be", said Seymour, turning to face her. Whatever an Eidolon was, he assumed it wasn't human -- he had been called many things based on his appearance alone and, while this was certainly a new one, he had grown accustomed to the point that he no long bothered to bat an eyelid at the strange questions thrown his way. "I might well be but it's just as likely that I'm not even remotely the same. If it's not too much, would you mind enlightening me?"
"It's baffling. People only want to deny the wrongs done against them -- they may call out against them but they're oft too daft to take it on board as they should. Willful ignorance, really. To honestly claim, without any irony, that you could be absolutely happy...is that not a strange and impossible thing?"
"Hey, Y- wait no come back! I wasn’t done with you yet!"
"My sincerest apologies. I did not see this conversation having any potential to go very much farther. As such, I would like to take my leave of you."
"You say you are happy but I cannot help but doubt how certain you are. Can you honestly say that you have found true joy in a world such as this?"

Yeul’s eyes widened to the sound of his voice after being discovered. Her heart dropped and she could no longer feel it beating, paralyzed by fear. An odd sight he was, she had never seen hair on a person like his, she was convinced that he wasn’t human upon first look, yet she was too afraid to question it. She felt as if he would strike her dead at any moment, she kept her demeanor straight and serious, not letting him see through her emotions.
She shook her head to his question. Sure, she had been told not to sneak up on people, but she was reluctant to tell the man anything. She got a feeling as if there was danger in this encounter and it made her feel uneasy.
"It appears as if I have hit a dead end as I have been wandering. You cannot call someone lost if they have no where to be."
It seemed that her words held more meaning than she had perhaps intended. The though of having nowhere to be was one that resounded within him -- though he had led Guadosalam until his death, he had never belonged there, not for a moment. Though he had been born in that same town, he was unwanted there. The tides do turn for those who have come into power and influence. He had, upon his arrival, decided with quite some haste that the Guado were a sniveling, grovelling group of idiots trapped in a world with which they simply could not keep up, try though they might.
Yet, somehow, he had not cared about her location. The state of being lost was not quite so simple. Though he had not realised until he had taken the time to think upon his words, to be lost was to be one of many things. This girl was lost and there were no two ways about it. She was confused, even afraid. She did not know where she was going and she was lonely. That much was clear. Despite it all, she tried to remain strong, and Seymour commended her for it.
"In that case, I would like to ask you just one thing", Seymour said, a look of concern, a look of questionable sincerity, painted across his features, "Why is it that you have no to place to be?"
The young seeress often lurked in places she did not belong, too afraid of the consquence to announce her presence to anyone who was around. She was especially weary of the Guado, seeing him in her visions attempting to alter the timelines for the destruction of the world. She knew of his intentions, and his ambitions to pursue those intentions, even in death was he ever as ambitious.
She was careful to reveal herself, hiding her face under her veil from the head dress that she had always worn. She was getting no visions, which made her believe she was safe. She creeped her way around what was left of the tree the tree where they were using as support, not only to hide themselves but to stand tall in their afterlife encounter.
She put her hand on it as well, on the other side of it so he could not see her, placing an ear against it as well, she knew she would hear nothing from the tree, but it brought her some sort of comfort.
She heard him speak and instantly felt her heart beat pick up in pace, almost as if it were beating out of her chest. Though she it seemed he was talking to the tree between them, she knew who he was truly speaking to her. She peaked her head around the tree, looking at him with her moon wide green eyes, afraid to approach fully.
Brows knitted, Seymour lifted his hand away from the tree and took a step back. It was not as if her presence had surprised him; the not-so-subtle rustling in the foliage had given her away, after all. He had not been certain that there was indeed someone there but there were suspicions, and it seemed they had been proved correct.
The girl before him was a strange and timid creature, almost waifish in appearance; like some frightened little fairy. The world was in a strange way, a bad way, and it seemed that all things within it begged for sympathy. Much like the dying wood she hid behind, this girl appeared lost in a place where she could otherwise have found peace, recent events having torn her universe apart and leaving her small and dejected.
He could not read anything in her other than a faint sense of fear and so supposed there much more serious thing on her mind, that she was somewhat preoccupied. It was so that he came to pity her, something that only served to anger him further. It was a carefully controlled anger that would know show upon his person, an anger he had learned to hold tightly within himself, an anger that, despite how he hid it, influenced his every move.
"Were you never taught not to sneak up on people?" Seymour said, in jest, offering the girl a smile; the smile that lied and did so with immense ease, "Have you gotten lost?"

Things were not as they should have been, of that he was certain. The world was in disarray and there was little around him that made sense. Though, despite the glaring alterations made to the geography and perversions in the climate, Seymour was left wonder, above all other things, how it was that he had come to be. After all, logic seemed all to desperate too remind him that he was, for all intents and purposes, dead. Very dead indeed.
His fingers traced the gnarled bark of a tree that had been devastated in the chaos that brought him here. It was a weak and pathetic thing though it took no great mind to see that it had once been something much grander -- and, so, Seymour saw once again that all that existed in the world was doomed to suffer. All living things would spend all their days writhing in agony, for life was a cruel and unrelenting thing.
He had not long since woken from his slumber and was still familiarising himself with the flow of life coursing through him - it had been some time since he had been Sent, since that last nail had been so firmly hammered into his coffin. He had never expected to see the simple act as living as such an unusual thing but, still, few people expect to die more than once and fewer still expect to keep on living regardless.
Yet to think that his first realisation upon returning was one of distress and hardship said enough to him. The world could twist and it could change, it could every single thing about itself, and still it would be true that pain would continue to be the lord of all men, gripping their throats with its jagged talons. No, he wouldn't falter - his aims were as they always had been.
"Oh, you sad little thing", he sighed, now pressing his entire hand against what was left of the tree, his brows furrowed as he cast his gaze elsewhere, "Once upon a time, you must have stood so proud, so tall, and, now, you're little more than an unsightly husk."
And many, many more!
There’s plenty of spots open for various Final Fantasy games as well as Kingdom Hearts, so come apply! Look forward to you joining!
