The ex has a natural strength quirk but she was born fragile so it just doesn't work well, she gets injured. She had to drop out of the hero high school Nicky was going to and tried convincing them to drop out as well which conflicted Nicky to hell and back but ultimately -they stayed.
The ex put on a fake smile and told them it's fine as long as Nicky makes it up to her which is when they started doing literally anything for her, putting himself to the side. They tried communicating how suffocated they felt and the ex started another fight.
Nicky felt as though a breakup was in order but, you guessed it, the ex switched up last minute and 'started considering them' more. Cut to summer and now the ex is suddenly moving away, telling Nicky only 3 days before .
Definitely one of their most toxic relationships, and not to spoil the next part but the ex makes a comeback!
I got a bit lazy with this second part but I was sorting out my self inserts lore and really wanted to draw The Incident finale

The fight between Nicky and their ex wasn't a long one but it was intense. About 30 minutes of purely trying to survive. What we don't see in this comic are pro heroes attempting to take over the fight but Nicky wouldn't let their ex out of their sight. If he did, the ex would hurt someone who wasn't them and they couldn't allow that.
So, in the end, while protecting their school, classmates, and teachers, they were thrown from 20 ft in the air directly into the top of the building, it crumbled with them. Here's what I wrote that inspired me to finish the visuals. (screenshot with image description)
Couple of times Nicky and Izuku were chatting about their quirk 😊!
There was also a prompt on twt, "who's the first to confess in you yumeship?" And the bottom comic was my answer! Nicky isn't really confessing but he's just straight up flirting w/ Izuku, heavy LOL. Real answer is Izuku probably, to actually bring up a potential relationship at least.

I think I said it before but they met in an underground subway, Nicky was trying to help a woman shake off a man who wouldn't leave her be, the man accidentally shoved Nicky too hard and he almost fell onto the tracks. Izuku had just gotten down there and grabbed Nicky but it was his bad arm unfortunately. He took them to the hospital, feeling as though he owed them for reinjuring their arm ^^;
They got to talking about their scars and injuries, Izuku told Nicky about his and Nicky told him about theirs. Then it was revealed Nicky cannot manually control their quirk anymore, since the incident that caused the scars. They became friends, Izuku visiting them after they got released from the hospital to check up on their arm and continue chatting about each others pasts.
Nicky mentioned they have a shapeshifting quirk and obviously Izuku lit up. He had so many questions and went into nerd mode. Since then they've continued to meet up and chat about Nicky's quirk and all it's intricacies. As time continues Nicky gets more and more flirtatious, who wouldn't be watching a handsome man like Izuku excitedly scribble and mutter about their quirk. They already thought Izuku was hot from first bad arm grab LOL but they slowly fall harder head over heels.
Izuku gets very into the details of Nicky's quirk, the history and passing it down through their family. He'll end up asking questions for hours and focusing hard on writing. So hard he can't hear aaaanything Nicky says. That's when they get the chance to really observe Izuku lmaoaoao
Eventually they start repeating it for him and the bottom comic is what we get when that happens.
And I need to clarify for my own sake Nicky is me and I am Nicky, he's just fictionalized and dramatized!

I’ve been trying different labels with Izuku and the relationship.. like calling him my ‘boyfriend’ doesnt sit right, ‘partner’ was better, but ‘husband’ really hits it makes me so happy :3

I wrote all the info on the reference but I’ll write it again here ^^
Nicky (lastname lol) is a 25 year old who just moved to Japan from America, where they attended a hero school in their late high school years. During the second year of school there was an incident, which I’ve yet to come up with the details for, but, the incident was the final time they acted as a (non official, student) hero. It left the right side of their body weakened and scarred, and gave them a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that greatly affected their quirk.
Their quirk is Shapeshift! They could change into people, animals, and even fictional ‘monsters’, as long as it was supposedly living and not a cup or chair they could change into it. Yes, including bigfoot and god zilla but they never did, that’s not their style 😂 After the TBI it’s like their quirk was locked away, they can no longer manually use it. It’s an imaginative and analytical quirk, it takes a lot of brain power. Now, it only activates if their emotions are strong enough. Thought it would take a long time, they fully have the ability to harness that change and continue hero work but their body is too broken to be doing any running, jumping, rolling- you name it.
Because they cannot be a pro hero they are a babysitter! Nicky has always adored working with kids and taken care of them. He only wishes he could play with them, run around with them, toss em in the air, like he used to young members of his family before the incident.
Nicky and Izuku met randomly, quickly, when Nicky almost fell onto train tracks in an underground subway. Izuku reached out, grabbing whichever arm he could, which was unfortunately Nicky’s bad arm, and pulled them back to safety. There was a minor altercation in the subway, a man wouldn’t leave a woman alone, and of course Nicky knew he had to at least step in and attempt to help the woman out. The man told him to “mind your business” and pushed him back, which is what nearly landed him on the tracks. (“Why didnt Izuku save the woman from the man” he just got to the subway, he was running late and witnessed the end of the altercation 😤!!)
After that Izuku personally took Nicky to the hospital, he felt responsible for the pain be caused their bad arm. He called other heroes to take his place in helping the woman and dealing with the man.
From then on Izuku made it his personal mission to check on Nicky while they were admitted, and encouraged them to do physical therapy. After leave, Izuku still went to check up on Nicky, he learned they were hero and was completely interested in what their quirk could be.
And then from there is just stories I make up in my head on how they get closer 😋
Their relationship is queer as Nicky is nonbinary (tmasc) gender void, using they/he pronouns and not identifying as their agab. Their first impressions of each other was Nicky thinking Izuku is a bit reckless but hawt, Izuku thought Nicky was interesting and likes their red hair and scattered body freckles (which I totally forgot to make a reference for, i’ll do that another time!)
I haven't had an FO in years but seeing him changed something in me so here we are!
Allow me to introduce him, Izuku Midoriya age 25 5'8" and teacher at UA! Previous and final holder of OFA, now quirkless (again) but given a suit from his past classmates at UA that mimics OFA!
