Watched Fury with Brad Pitt and must say it didn't surprise me in any aspect. Not a movie to remember. Sadly. I love Brad ever since Fight Club!
What do I take back home from Barcelona for KRAFT?
12 coffee project idea for KRAFT , every first saturday or sunday a new espresso from a different roastery
Maybe offer a kinda Tapas night sometimes. Or a snack night, where all little dishes sit on counter on a lofted plates. 2-3€ piece plus wine and beer
Interiour design: NOMAD cafe was great, all white, with wooden highlights and some green with the plants, many restaurants/cafes gave ‚Besteck‘ enrolled in a recycled tissue, kinda nice, sugar was mostly on tables, brown and white (Nomad had no sugar anywhere if I recall right), also light is super important, with next shop there is no way we save money there, same for sound system, good speaker system is very important, it brings so much to overall atmosphere. At OVAL all was in a DIY style with plywood, they gave ‚Besteck‘ in a metal plant cup with tissues, also when serving they put the bill on a little plate with a pin and also always give their business card with the bill.
Note: Forgetting stuff sucks, at OVAL the first forgot my avocado and then second time forgot my cheese on fries. In annoyed shit out of people and they remember. better ask 3 times than to forget.
Reviews: Always ask for reviews. Put stickers, signs in window for Yelp, Foursquare and Tripadvisor (and Google of course). They matter SO much. I found all my food/coffee treasures in Barcelona via Foursquare.
Drinks: At Tamarindo they offered a Tamarinde Water (in beer jug with cinnamon powder at top rim) and also Lime water and even more (maybe Nelken water) for 2-2.30 per cup. REMEMBER: They displayed the different ingredients for such water in big glass containers, great idea. We should display our ginger as well, and maybe also dried mint and tamarind and...
Home improvement Project
Ideas/Thoughts
Well, whats more important for me, living room or kitchen? In KITCHEN I actually just care about the table and up to 4 good eating chairs. For the table I really wanna have a round one, white, I prefer the Tulip table by WHO?? Kitchen Chairs, I have no idea, also white? At the wall next to the table I somehow wanna hang something, maybe 2-3 of those Ikea picture shelves in white with cool posters/prints on it. Or all things I see in magazines/bookes I see and find cool or wanna remember. OR I saw a cool shelf with black wood planks which had holes for terra-cotta plant cups filled with cacti. All that build with that white cheap shelving system from our local home depot.
For LIVING ROOM, I kinda wanna hang something over the sofa, like the Kermit supreme picture. But does one look good? Or should I hang more? Also I am not so happy with the sofa table, its too big. I like that bench from that Fredrik kit in Instagram (Nelson bench). He has a great taste overall with all the Eames chairs and his Vitsoe shelf. I wanna have a white sideboard, simple, maybe with a wood countertop. Saw something like this on the web, on that blog from that american lady. My TV has to go, also the ottoman thing from my sofa. I started with 2 cool plants and have some more cacti that have no real space yet. The books need to go somewhere. I don’t know. Maybe in wine boxes, stacked? No. I had a better idea, can’t remember. For prints/posters, I could also just place them on the floor, since I once liked the idea of not putting anything on my walls. Also for random shit that just needs to be thrown in boxes, I had the idea of building a shelf inspired by that Italian designer (Enzo Mari) and then add those Bauhaus DIN plastic boxes.More than 2m high should be enough for all the random shit 1 men needs to own. Also I wanted to add doors to my shitty cheap Ikea expedit shelf, like I have seen at Omoni, the Sushi place. Made out of plywood with one corner cut out to be able to open it easily. Furthermore, something has to be done to my clothing corner aka open wardrobe. It looks horrible as shit and btw I have way to much clothing. Sofa, well well, its kinda cool but also the cat likes to scratch it, I want a cover, old military blanket to throw over if needed. Almost forget, sound system, wanna sell my shit to get one amplifier and 2 simple black speakers. Need to sound good with hip hop tho. Do I need a mirror? Or should it be in hallway? Hallway! For sure. PS: I need a good chair for my writing desk. Teak plus leather. Or Vitra.
Why this blog
Marco Pruefer Blog
What do I wanna do with this blog? For whom is it?
I will answer these questions here.
I wanna post the following for one person only: Me! I wanna remember those things because I have a horrible memory. If someone reads this, fine. But since this site is for me, I don’t care about spelling mistakes or weird wordings. I understand my shit!
I wanna post:
Thoughts
Ideas
Reviews of any kind
Projects
Results, Conclusions
Books I read
Movies I watched
Pictures/Images that inspire me, or I wanna remember (such as dream home pictures)
Home improvement project progress?
But maybe, I should post books, and movies on my other blog with the crossfit wods?
I just watched: Nightcrawler with Jake Gyllenhaal! Nothing too exciting bt Jake plays his role really good I think, not a movie for the 2014 best of gallery tho.
2014/2015 New Years Resolutions
What did I think about at Midnight?
I think I wanna be:
More focused - get shit done approach - and hustle my ass off! I wanna earn more (which is just a KPI for me and not my main goal in life) in 2015 and get more things done and not waste time with shit. Like reading unimportant blogs or watching shitty movies. If I don't like something or if I think this doesn't bring me any value, I stop or say NO! Doesn't mean I can't relax from time to time tho.
Project Idea Collection for 2015
12 Months - 12 Letters
12 Countries or 12 trips no matter how long
12 logos or 12 creative projects/challenges
Make 12 people smile (with what?)
Make 12 T-Shirt Designs (also print them?)
Start 1 new (side) business that earns income
Throw 12 unforgettable parties
Learn 1 new thing/language/etc.
12 coffees at Kraft
Which one is the best or which could I actually pursue? Which are shitty or not manageable? Does it make sense tu pursue several of those?
I kinda like the 12 letter idea, combined with a blog, possibly a simple tumblr. But I also wanna be more creative and focused, business oriented. Tough one!
2014 Review

Accomplishments:
Finally quit corporate job to pursue my own passions/dreams full-time: KRAFT
Made a 4-figure income with Photomat which started as a side project
Moved to Prenzlauer Berg and now have a lovely and cool flat with 2 balconies, and also started to throw away all the Ikea shit and invest in some quality furniture
Finally printed 2 shirts again: My KRAFT Garage style shirt and the first SoSo Club shirt
Almost finalized my CX500 project, got some work done on it and year ended with rust in the tank
Hold the first team christmas party of my "company" with business partner Jarves and our 2 employees at Royals & Rice on Torstrasse, we also gave them the Garage Style Shirts as Christmas present, hopefully till next year we can double the amount of employees.
Reflection of my NY 2014 Barcelona Trip
I set strict priorities:
Relax
Read
Sport: CrossFit + Run (+Surf)
Art/Culture
Coffee
Thinking/Reviewing: 2014/15 what was good/bad, whats planned for 2015 etc., wanted to think about Kraft, SoSoClub, my personal website, ideas, Photomat
Be Spontaneous like take a class in sty. or join people dancing in the street or talk to random people.
Summary:
I kinda succeeded, like 80%. I did relax a lot, thinking about nothing at the beach and reading. I almost finished one book which gave me the idea of following Luke Leighfields 52 book project in 1 year. Did CrossFit every possible day (like 6 in total I think). Went surfing spontaneously for 1 hour. Saw at least one museum which was ok but not super exciting (Museum of Modern Art, expected more objects like chairs etc but just saw ivory objects and modern paintings. Went to the best coffee shop in BCN: Nomad Coffee! Gotta stay in touch. Did some thinking in between reading and being lazy. Trying to bring this stuff down to paper now and to publish it here for me to remember better. Didn't really think about SoSo Club tho and not about Photomat either. Kraft a little and myself or my year.
PS: Other city ideas for my NY trip were Tel Aviv or Istanbul (I wanted to go to Thailand first). Maybe those cities in 2015?
Pilars of my life!
Idea collection in Barcelona, December 2014!
From top to bottom, less important to very important:
Peace in Mind - Maybe more important than Travel?
Travel
Health/Fitness
Self Fullfillment
Family/Friends
Summary:
No piece in mind yet, still feel unrested und troubled. Where does my life lead to? Did travel some countries and cities despite just having opened a coffee shop. Did see London and an NFL game, did see Budapest with Erhan and Anton and went to Barcelona alone over New Years. About health/fitness: Did soccer all year round and thought I got better but neglected fitness/crossfit somehow. A big goal for 2015 is to do more crossfit/running or whatever to stay in shape and gain some muscles back. Self-fullfillment went pretty good in 2014, quit my day job at Bayer to open Cafe Kraft and gained a four figure income with Photomat. What about friends and family? They are my base but did I neglect this topic to work overload with Kraft? I should ask them or pay tribute with a small party or something!
About
“To be mature you have to realize what you value most. It is extraordinary to discover that comparatively few people reach this level of maturity. They seem never to have paused to consider what has value for them. They spend great effort and sometimes make great sacrifices for values that, fundamentally, meet no real needs of their own. Perhaps they have imbibed the values of their particular profession or job, of their community or their neighbors, of their parents or family. Not to arrive at a clear understanding of one’s own values is a tragic waste. You have missed the whole point of what life is for.”
