House is over and im sobbing

after 8 months, may 25th - january 5th, i finished house md. What the hell do I do with myself? How do I get on with life?

my body hurts my stomach hurts my eyes hurt from crying my teeth hurt im pretty sure im on my period i have the flu i am not made for this

Ive never in my life been able to dedicate myself to something and follow through with it until I started watching House. I told myself that I was going to watch the entire show no matter how long it took me and now I finally did it. it was a hell of a ride. I feel like I’ve proven to myself that anything i possible in a way and now I get to have my reward

a lot has changed since the 8 months i started watching the show. Ive fallen in and out of love over and over gain, grieved over people, nearly died a few times myself, found happiness and depression in a whiplash. The most important thing out of that though is that House MD taught me how to be happy again. It taught me how to think for myself, how to be independent, what my ambitions and goals are in life. Its made me laugh at my lowest points and sob at my highest. And now its over.

Now, i can do what I want. It’s like im on freeplay mode now. I have the freedom to never touch the sjow again, or rewatch it til I get sick of it. I could jump around the seasons, read or write fanfiction to my hearts context, anything. its crazy.

months ago I was terrifed that I wouldn’t live long enough to finish House MD. But I did, and now I realize that I was scared of nothing. I have such a long and beautiful life ahead of me, one that I can do anything with. Its all up to me. I dont know why I’m so existential I’m bleeding out of my vagina right now crying at 12am while sick and on steroids

anyway. I just want to say, thank you House MD. And for that one boy from my sophomore year who started it all and introduced me to the show, thank you too. Seriously, I think this show changed my life, for the better

okay, i’m done now. i think it’s time to invest another eight months in a rewatch

i think one thing i’ll never recover from in house md is after house loses the patient in the ambulance, foreman is the one who talks to him in the hospital lobby. the way they go from the start of the show where foreman is so against ever being anything like house to being the one who understands him enough to be the one to comfort him in the specific way that someone like wilson couldn’t is such a well done character arc and is one of my favorite moments in the whole show
