In my essay, I will strengthen my point by using clear language and words that are strong but not confusing. I do not want to use too many words however, I also do not want to fall short on the amount of words I use to get my point across. Since we are writing about the concepts we have learned and much more, it is important to revise each part so that you are not repeating yourself over and over again.

I like this approach! Being repetitive has been a struggle of mine so I like the idea of paying close attention to each section to be sure it stands out and flows without repeating yourself.

What do you like most about your learning?

I have always learn best through experience and trial and error, and I am thankful to have had the ability to do that through this class. Making mistakes and gaining feedback from my peers has helped me to become a better learner and web writer.

Trial and error is the only way to go, so I fully agree! The amount of scratching and then re-starting and then scratching it again that I've done in this course is a lot but I find that is the best way to successfully complete these assignments.

What do you like the most about your essay?

I think I like how personal I made it. It felt very natural for me to write because I just imagined myself sitting in my future workplace and being interviewed by my future boss. I like the way that it flows and connects with the assignments we did in class. It was nice to be able to reflect on the work that we did and to see how much work was actually done over all these weeks. Being able to connect to a real life scenario was also a great help. Sharing the work I did and then translating it over to sharing it with a potential job candidate was fun.

What are you most proud of with your writing process?

I think I am most proud of my ability to push through the challenging parts. This class was very challenging for me and pushing through on the assignments or parts of a project that I did not understand that well is huge for me. It took a lot of brain power and drive to commit myself to the complexity of this class. So overall, learning how to solidify my brainstorming process and revision process were huge for me and then becoming more confident in how I deliver my writing.

Where will you adjust your essay to strengthen your point? 

I feel a little bit nervous that I did not fully complete this essay to expectations. After reading some other peer posts, I feel maybe I overlooked some key points. Anyway, I am hopeful my point was made. I chose to write it in the perspective of an interviewee. So I was answering the questions as if I was at a job interview. I think writing in this perspective helped to keep the essay on track and flow really well. I tried not to go off on any 'tangents' which is difficult for me. Keeping it straight forward and fully answering the questions being asked helped with the overall strength of the essay.

how did content creation go for you? What did you learn that will help you write about your tips & tricks? 

I learned all about strategy, of course. I really used the tips and tricks section to highlight the content strategy used for my specific creators I was writing for. Writing for the specific content creators made it easy to identify the strategy that was being used and to hone in on the tips and tricks.

what does your final revision process look like?

My final revision process has a few steps. First, I read through the project and look back at the instructions to ensure I included everything. Then I make edits for cohesiveness and reread it. After that, I make grammatical edits as I see needed. I find feedback from others to be very helpful so, to wrap it all up, I usually ask one of my roommates to read over it and make sure it sounds the way I want it to.

You have a solid revision process! Feedback from others is key. I have found my success rate to be much higher when peer review is one of the steps in the revision process

How are you rethinking design for HTWG?

This is a screenshot of part of my content analysis project, but it shows details I’m choosing to use in my How to Write Guide. Here, I’m keeping consistent fonts and layout of images. In the How to Write Guide, organized, clear content is essential. I will not use large paragraphs like I did in the above, but keeping placement of headers, sub-headers, and imagery consistent will be a main goal.

Love this! I have found similar takeaways. For me, I had difficulty with the analytics part because I knew it was just a small (critical) but small part of the project. For me, it's always about connection, so thats where my heart was leading me the whole time.

what did you learn about content strategy that you want to highlight in your How to Write Guide.

This is probably different for everyone but I felt the biggest take away for me personally, is the connection to the audience. I know you cannot actually strategize connection. It has to be genuine. I just feel that the reason most of the audience is following is specifically for that content creator and who they are, how they talk, the way they smile or dress or laugh. So I highlighted a bit on genuine connection in my HTWG.
