It's not that felix "can" its that the creators and this fandom don't view it as sexual assault, ergo...it didn't happen, and the impact of everything else he did is also grossly minimized and explained away as him having no choice/not knowing any better... because he's a stupid brain dead baby apparently. But he also totally graduated high school early.

Unfortunately for the creator what felix did IS sexual assault by definition (it includes unwanted kissing) and felix isn't any less of a perpetrator of it just because of his age or because the victim defended herself. But mind you, it should have never gotten to that point- ladybug was audibly saying "no", and felix just didn't care I guess? I don't think people realize how scary and gross it can feel to be backed into a corner under that type of context.

The story does sort of handle it properly at the time, but then s4 rolls around and.. the creepy behavior and lack of boundaries he displayed when trying to assault ladybug is still very much there, front and center, just now being placed under a more favorable, sympathetic light.

Rather than using this to let the audience know that felix hasn't actually changed, the story now frames these traits as misunderstood. Romantically misguided. Sympathetic. Passionate. A king who takes charge and makes his crush cry by murdering her mother in front of her. Isn't it cute how much Felix loves Kagami? #couplegoals

The show kind of acknowledges that Felix was wrong for this... but also not really? Because as of season 6, these traits are STILL there, STILL not properly addressed. Nothing says 'lack of boundaries' quite like child marriage and plotting to have your fiances mother thrown into jail for the rest of her life. Speaking of that, Tomoe is still an issue, and with her often being equated to being the female version of Gabriel who just can't learn her lesson, this inadvertently validates Felix's unaliving of her in s5 (i mean, was it really bad when we can see how much better off adrien is now without gabriel? Why wouldn't it be the same for kagami?) and now again in s6 with he and Amelie plotting against and talking shit about her behind Kagamis back because obvious they probably know that, unlike her fiance and future monster in law, Kagami doesn't want to see her mother hurt or in jail.

And this has been a pattern since s3. Any feeble attempts the show makes to show felix is in the wrong is always eventually walked back on and he always ends up being validated. He never actually learns his lesson, and the show never forces him to. It's never felix who suffers the consequences of felixs actions, it's always other people/sentibeings. Yet we are meant to display empathy and tolerance for this rich sociopath just because he had a tragic past...

But Chloes past doesn't excuse her lashing out and never learning her lesson? Was she just not abused or mistreated enough to earn her "do whatever I want and treat ppl like shit" pass? Aww :/

Felix's redemption, his entire story as a whole, was unneeded. Rich white boys already get passes and avoid consequences for their horrible behavior in the real world, they are not an oppressed group, and Felix's story isn't even unique as there's about 10 other different characters who have experienced some form of both emotional AND physical abuse coming from parents or people they trusted. These people all still get held accountable for their behavior when they start lashing out, even if it's towards someone who might have deserved it.

Its funny that the creator wants everyone to treat felix like a special little glass boy because of the abuse hes gone through and in spite of this characters actions, but his attitude towards real life "difficult cases" seems to be pretty impatient and hostile and mocking.

I don't think its right for people to harass him over chloe, to be clear, but that is not the type of thing someone does unless there is something wrong emotionally/mentally. A lot of them seem to sympathize with Chloe feeling unloved by her mother, some have even told him that, yet he continues to go at it with Chloe fans daily, telling them they're probably horrible people for relating to chloe and for liking her more than Sabrina (I mean thats not how morality works but ok) and other stupid shit. And his most recent tweets seemed particularly edged towards trying to upset them....because that definitely won't make things worse.

Mind you, Chloe fans, unlike Felix, are real human beings. These people can be going through any sort of abuse behind the internet drama, including physical, so what was the point of Felix's utter failure of a narrative if it doesn't actually motivate anyone to help or tolerate "difficult cases"?

I'm convinced that the only thing people actually got out of Felix's story is that its actually totally normal and okay to be a useless hypocrite.

Honestly I liked how he was treated during season 3 and 4, an anti-hero with some charisma that would help the side that favored him. But oh my lord what happened in season five? He's suddenly a poor little baby who didn't want to be created by magic and had an abusive father?

Also, what do you mean he STILL has this behaviour in season 6?? I'm not following that hard so I know nothing of Felix's whereabouts, besides that one ep he and Kagami feel the need to trust the rings to Mari.

I agree that it's not cool to harass the creator over Chloe, but my god. It's so pathetic and immature to put her in season six and show she didn't change out of spite. Wasn't this issue resolved last season? Okay, fine, you don't want to redeem her, you already sent her to another country, fine, we don't want to hear about her anymore! Klavier taking Apollo out on a date, making sure it's the most perfect, expensive and remarkable date ever.

But Apollo is mostly nonchalant, almost bored

The one and only moment he genuinely, really smiles, was when Klavier gave him a little handmade gift. That he was hiding and reluctant to give him the whole time, thinking it was the worst part of the date.

Only bad thing is that Apollo had to justify himself that he did like the date, just didn't notice he wasn't showing it. Because Klavier didn't think that it was cute that the thing he liked the most was the one he made by heart. He planned this whole thing for months just for the man to like the most the one thing he really hated.

Yeah it's all shits and giggles until we remember that Klavier has flaws, including perfectionism, a real bad temper and an excessive need for control and we should not be afraid of it in purpose of the fluff.

But I don't want to turn this into angst, the date ended well after a sincere heart by heart conversation

For the angst lovers, here's a concept:

Miles found somewhere his father's old coat, or at least one that looks very much like it, deciding to use it during winter.

What he didn't think was that he'd receive a call from Larry, saying Phoenix was dying in the hospital.

Really, he wasn't. But Wright asked for a very strange favour, to wear his badge and defend a client for him. He thought for a moment that he was kidding, but when he actually handed him his badge (alongside a weird green stone), he concluded that the injury was more serious than it looked.

But he was serious. And surprisingly sane.

Incredibly, Miles accepted the request.

He didn't have time to change his clothes, or maybe that's what he told himself not to admit he wanted to wear his father's overcoat while playing the attorney.

And so, he spent Bridge for the Turnabout being the spit image of his late father.

Spoilers for AA6-5

Paul Atishon may not be the worst or most boring culprit, but he's definitely the most confusing one. And what I mean is his whole character is a plot hole

PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it is at least implied in AA2 that Kurain village is commanded by women. Heck, the most important family in there has only women, the men are at best mentioned.

Also, they derive from a theocratic kingdom whose main goddesses figures are women.

So ig it's safe to assume that men are seen as at least a bit inferior.

And so I wonder: what the fuck was a man trying to do trying to command a village where women command?

"Well, Inga tried to become Khura'in's king!" Valid argument, except I also think this was at best a stupid idea and at worst the same plot hole with a different skin

But fine. We don't have any concrete proof that the village or the kingdom are matriarchies

But if Kurain was commanded by Mayors this whole time... Then the whole Fey lore, one of the main cores of the first trilogy and the main core of the third game feels... A bit stupid?

Like, it makes Morgan's entire character a bit dumb. And I think Morgan is one of the best AA villains. If the main control in Kurain belongs to a type of government, what's the point of her being the master? What's the point of the Master anyway?? People killed and died for what?

Okay, people's faith has its power, and the thing with Morgan could've been out of pride but... Still, I think the idea of a Kurain mayor makes Fey's plot feel a bit bad :(

And finally, I think this case would've been better if they excluded his character, deleted the murder (because honestly this case is already annoyingly long) and put Iris in here.

We would have seen her relationship with her sister and cousin, Pearl and Maya

Iris could be easily in control of things, doing it for Maya, the Master, while she's out training

The "Crystal of Ami Fey" story would feel much more believable. Because it's one of the heads of the Fey clan telling it, not some rando

And the best thing is we have more feenris please Capcom I'm starving

Based on the name of the song Guilty Love and in that one Klavier speech "I've never felt this way with a man before" let's assume that the song was about Klavier dealing with his crush on Apollo that came way too sudden and way too quick since they just met + some type of internalized homophobia.

Now imagine how much fucking worse it was for Klavier in Turnabout Senerade.

Your keys were stolen, your unique guitar was burnt and your show was almost ruined. But fine. You were saved by pure luck and you still have the third act, you're about to declare your love for your crush who actually came in your show.

But then the bitch tells you your song sucks and that he'd rather stay in a messy af dressing room than hear that noisy ass shit and see you from close.

Oh, also. One of your band mates and childhood best friend missed a cue even though you've been rehearsing for probably months.

And for the cherry on top: a man just died.

I wouldn't show up for that trial for shit.

Spoilers for AA6

What do you people think of Nahyuta?

Tbh I found him pretty boring. But from what I know, that's the popular opinion

His personality is somewhat bland, and all of his lore revolves around Dhurke, Amara and Apollo. Barely anything about him. I would dare to say nothing

If Apollo had been the protagonist from the beginning and traveled to Khura'in instead of Phoenix, his arc would be better spread, so we wouldn't need everything compacted in Turnabout Revolution. And then we'd have some space for Nahyuta's lore. For example what he went through between becoming a prosecutor to becoming Ga'ran's "lapdog"? Like okay what happened was Rayfa's situation, but I only felt bad for her, I didn't really care about him.

And again, that's because this is so much more about Rayfa than about him! Nothing's ever about him!

If I can praise one thing about him though, it's his design. Bro's MAJESTIC. I think he's the prettiest prosecutor of the main games and I'm not even kidding

But that's not enough when you lack lore and personality. Which is honestly sad, I really loved SOJ.

How would you fix this? Or perhaps you just have another point to add?

There is something angsty about Phoenix had a bunch of people in the legal world that he didn't know as friends but really respected and even liked him and through Klavier's first years as a prosecutor those same people treated him nicely UNTIL Phoenix got disbarred. And now everyone that liked Phoenix dislikes Klavier and anyone who still likes Klavier are corrupt people that disliked Phoenix because they knew they'd be fucked if they ever met him in court

AA second trilogy has something against Klavier and as much as I think AA4 is underrated not even this game has defenses against it

Spoilers ahead for AA4!

"Don't you mean spoilers for the whole trilogy??" Well if Klavier actually appeared during AA6 I could say that

First of all, I would like to make a comparison with Edgeworth. Which we'll ignore is a pretty unfair one considering Miles is AA's golden goose (he's my favourite character yet I think he was NOT narratively useful during 6-5 at all. Even 5-5 had a better excuse to put him there 😭)

Klavier is underexplored in his own debut game. I don't think we have anything about his past besides being Kris' brother and he was the prosecutor in the case that made Phoenix go homeless.

Turnabout Senerade is the best we got to explore him, and yet we only got one band member that was the killer, even though we have five in total. We also learn in this case that he has a temper, but that's only for the first day of investigation and a moment in the trial... In the rest of the game he's so nonchalant. Even Nahyuta with his "let go and move on" isn't like that.

He doesn't care his best/childhood friend is being accused of murder

He doesn't care his brother is being accused of murder

He doesn't care that his band broke up!

I think in Kristoph's case is a liiiittle better than with Daryan? But I don't remember much about this in turnabout succession. But I do remember him pressing Vera a lot when it comes to the topic of the 7y ago forged evidence. And I liked that. But in the rest of the case he has very little moments like these

I also wish Apollo and Kristoph had a little more exploring, because aside of Turnabout Trump it feels like Apollo's not affected at all by his mentor?

Bringing up the band thing again… I'm pretty sure Daryan and the other four members were his only friends in an industry/legal world full of self-serving and deceitful people. But nooo... Just the fans cried... Klav's opinions are not important...

Meanwhile, in his debut game, we learn everything about Miles. Honestly, the only thing that lacked in 1-4 was information on how Manfred was as Miles' father figure and what originated his excessive adoration of him. But those are just extra details , with Klavier, we don't have anything

In AA5, he has an apparition in the third case that I honestly thought was the peak of this case. And the information that his mentor just died

Does he care? Again, no. And honestly he's ugly in the 3d model and has the personality of a cabbage

In AA6… he's mentioned. Twice. By Ema's mean nickname and by his profession from Apollo, where he's calling him weird.

Yeah, we do have his gift for Trucy in 6-2, but you'd have to examine it to have any mention of him, so I don't count that since it's not a mandatory dialogue.

Miles appears in both games. And it has several moments and lines. Purely for fan service. I think AA5's was pretty nice and had a good excuse. But in AA6 it was useless.

And comparing him to Miles, in his trilogy he has very important roles in the final cases of the 2nd and 3rd games.

He's properly explored in his debut, is essentially the main part of Phoenix's arc in the second game and has a very important and remarkable moment in the last game.

Klavier barely has anything in his debut and appears less and less as the games go on.

And yk, they had the opportunity to make something in AA6. The Magical Turnabout explores the "industry is shit" thing, poorly, but they do.

Trucy is just a magician. I doubt she has a fifth of Klavier's fame.

He was the perfect character to explore this theme.

If they hadn't completely ignored Trucy in Dual Destinies, made something similar to magical turnabout instead of that THING they called a second case, AA6's second case could've been Klavier with the other gavinners, exploring his own bad traits like the temper and perfectionism, explore how things got after Daryan was sent to jail, how all of the other gavinners were all bad people and... Idk, his agency was shit too?

Anyway, I think I forgot to mention something, this was messy and... I just wish they did more with Klavier man. I miss my blonde baby.

Sighhh here comes another rant about AA's second trilogy. I swear I like AA4 and 6. Yeah no DD mention that's the only game I truly hate. This one's big folks

Apollo and his weird relationship with Khura'in

HEEEEAVY SPOILERS AHEAD FOR AA4, 5 AND 6!!!

Before talking about the topic at hand, I'd like to point out yet again that there's something interesting about Apollo not being the main character of his own story in the first game but they fuck this concept completely by making him not the protagonist at all in the next two games

Seriously, what was the necessity of making Phoenix the main character again in the next games? I can understand Apollo having a bit less spotlight in DD because Athena's lore needs to be told. But then they BOTH get their show stolen by Phoenix, who already had his arc completed in the previous trilogy and didn't evolve AT ALL. (One additional note to mention that Athena, in her only case during SOJ—coincidentally the weakest in the entire game—is dumber. And the show belongs to Simon. Just a taste of AA's misogynistic tendencies because they won't survive if a woman gets anything)

Pick up Phoenix from the end of AA3 and compare him to the end of AA6 and watch as he's literally the same person but with employees. Plus he's boring

Now, let's talk about how they fumbled SO BAD in Polly's arc during AA6. Like this game is about HIM. It's about the story of the country where he was born and raised. And he only appears in two cases. One that is about Trucy because by some miracle they remembered she exists and the other that, finally, is entirely about him, but it's stupidly long. Well, you wouldn't need to cram his entire character arc into a single case if you'd had the decency to have him appear in Khura'in FROM THE VERY FIRST CASE!!

Now, about what I really want to talk about, why doesn't he know anything about Khura'in once he's finally there. I get it, Dhurke was basically an exile in the country, but he didn't hate his culture? He absolutely taught him about their religion, history, and everything about Khura'in. He was what? 13? 14 when he was sent to the USA?

And OKAAAAY you could argue that he "tried to forget about Khura'in" because that's mentioned a lot during 6-5. But… why? It's not like he had any trauma involving Khura'in. Okay, he drowned once… but that gave him fear of swimming not fear of his nation. Plus, it's absolutely rubbed in your face how much of a great father Dhurke is. So I don't get why trying to forget Dhurke is a thing.

"Oh but he abandoned meeee!!!" BITCH you were old enough to know just how dangerous it was for you to live there being the son of the most wanted criminal in the COUNTRY. Honestly?? When Apollo notices it's been ten years and Dhurke STILL didn't come, your first thought shouldn't have been "sniff my father left me :(" it should have been "if it's been a fucking decade and this man is not back then my birth land must be SO FUCKED UP RIGHT NOW."

Did the Americans brainwash him or something? Honestly I take back the whole previous paragraph I'd be mad if I had to live in the US for more than a month /j /silly

Furthermore, I'm pretty sure the fact that Apollo knows nothing about queen Amara and doesn't recognise her as his mother just as much as he recognises Dhurke as his dad is pretty much a plot hole? Again, Apollo was probably sent to the US AT BEST an year after Rayfa's birth. And he doesn't know Amara...? At all??? WHY IS SHE A COMPLETE STRANGER TO HIM NAHYUTA KNOWS HER AND THEY HAVE ONLY ONE YEAR GAP

Okay, I'm done talking about how it irritates me that he doesn't remember anything about his past in Khura'in. But I want to talk about how it should've been flashed out how that affected him when he was already in another country

I think the biggest problem that makes people believe Apollo has three lores is that Clay's plot is not connected with AJ and SOJ plots, while they tell you in SOJ what happened to Thalassa for her to basically lose her son, they don't tell you how Apollo met Clay or how it was for him to change his life completely

He absolutely went through culture shock, and had to learn a very different language. Imagine Clay being the first person he met and showed him around the US, imagine his first years with Kristoph with him being anxious because he doesn't know a world where the DCA is not a thing, imagine him watching Phoenix's trials and interviews, idolizing him because he literally has the same beliefs as his father!! And that making Kris' jealousy grow before the Gramarye case because "I'M your mentor. You should be idolizing ME. Not a random, third-rate lawyer!"

Well, here's another rant. No, it won't be my last one about Apollo's trilogy. I'm writing one about Klavier having so little screen time it's pathetic. Apollo, Trucy and Klav, I love you three. You deserved so much better than the way DD and SOJ treated you.
