I adore your sketches. They feel so whimsical and melancholy and evoke tender feelings for me. Where did you learn this technique, or do you have any advice?
Thank you for you tender words, friend! Well... There're books by Michael Hampton and George B. Bridgman about figure drawing. I copied their drawings from these books with the goal of being precise with proportions and not precise with technique or else I'd be too tired and quit haha. But before that I just tried to draw what I see around me and love. A favourite cup of tea, a lamp, my Mom... : ) I'm not a pro. These photos I draw this sketches from are so beautiful, I fully depend on them :' ) I don't know how to draw like this from life, although I'll try to teach myself. Maybe David Downton's fashion sketches would help if I analyze them better. He draws from life! But the thing I notices about his sketches is that there's always a good lighting in the room where the model is, a lighting that a photographer would make. So lighting is a key, I guess.
