Marlene gives Fabian a little nod and chuckles. “Well, I’m happy it’s none of my business. Until someone comes to St. Mungo’s with things growing out of their face, anyway.”

Bili pauses, thinking. “Well, they get dogs to help them track stolen money and stuff, so maybe? Unless the dogs are actually looking for something else. I’ve only seen them a few times, I’m not sure what they were doing in that museum. Some muggle things are still really weird, ya know?”

“I never knew muggle dogs had a sense of smell like that. I mean, how different does stolen money smell from, you know, not stolen money.” She nods. “Some really are. Really. What’s the weirdest thing, though? If you had to pick.”

“Sorry to disappoint you, but there’s not. Just me wandering around like I forgot my head at home and can’t see anything,” she laughs. Marlene shakes her head. “I mean, if you want to be. I’m fine though. I am a little tipsy, though. But just a little.”

To Marlene’s dismay, she blushes furiously when Tilden turns around and looks at her. “Thank you,” she mutters sheepishly. “I... I really like this dress.”

Marlene lets out a laugh and trails behind Tilden as the make their way to the dance floor. “I apologize in advance, I’m not the best dancer. I’m average.”

He frowns. “You’re what? Hey, what’s up? You look really freaked out.” 

“I’m not as freaked out as I’m too large to walk through a door, apparently.”

“I’m not gonna’ hurt you, calm down.” He starts carefully separating her hair into sections so he can start braiding. “You wanna’ study with Sirius and me? We’re immature but we at least know our stuff.” He grins. “Life with the future wife is great. Crazy and kinda’ stressful, but really good. We’re looking to get married at the beginning of the year, so there’s a ton of stuff I gotta’ get done.”

“I’m not sure if you have the same definition of studying as me. And I know you’re pretty smart but....very much three years old, yes,” she teases, giggling a little. Her smile grows wider while listening to James talk about Lily. “Well, if you need any help, I might be a little all over the place at times but I’ve got some organizational skills. Sometimes at least.” She grins. “Have you two made any more plans for the future? Kids, maybe?”

Augustus smiles a little and shrugs. “Of course, you don’t have to,” he says. “But it wouldn’t be a trouble to me. Everyone deserves a listening ear.”

Marlene takes a breath to say something else but instead, pushes the air back out again and shakes her head. “I don’t know if I’m even supposed to be upset like this. People are just... awful. Awful.”

“Luckily, I prefer laughing with you to laughing at you,” she says, chuckling. “Oh yes, they’re awful. Absolute nightmare material. They’re supposed to be fun but something about them makes my skin crawl.”
