tan france calling me "my love" would, no lies, be the equivalent of three months of therapy for me
I’m Arab and I’m telling you our method of expressing love is fierce and on another level 🔥
That is just. So beautiful. Wow.
May I introduce you to Nizar Qabbani @nuggsmum?
[Image description: A screenshot of a tweet from user @.rosewatwr. The tweet reads "Arabic love poems are on another level. I remembered a line written by Farouq Jwaydeh "and if the devil was to ever see you, he'd kiss your eyes and repent" like come on."
Below is an image of black text, in both English and Arabic, on a white background. The English text reads
My lover asks me:
"What is the difference between me and the sky?"
The difference, my love,
Is that when you laugh,
I forget about the sky.
The Arabic text reads
تسالني صبيتي : ما الفرق ما بيني را بي اها ؟ ها بها ان أنك إن ضلت يا حبيبي . نسي اشها ..
End description.]

“I stopped explaining myself when I realized people only understand from their level of perception”

People will leave your life unexpectedly without an explanation or a goodbye. People will go from being there every day into a fading memory. People will leave, time and time again, they will leave. But I promise that time and time again, you will be okay.
People always arrive, too. You will form new relationships with new people. You’ll laugh over drinks with a friend you haven’t met yet. You’ll be welcomed by people who aren’t your neighbours yet. People show up, inevitable yet unexpected, like the first flower after winter. There will never be a time in your life where it is impossible for you to make a new friend, even when all other loves have loved their last day. There will always be someone willing to love you.

me, to the kids i worked with last week: welcome to medieval camp everyone! can anyone think of any fun medieval activities we might do here at camp this week?
kid: well, they used to do this thing where they would take your body and make it into four pieces and i think it was called quartering.
me: that’s called torture! we will not in fact be participating in torture this week! …anyone else?
listen there are too many of you saying i should have let them participate in torture
the fact that 2016 was 5 years ago and 2022 is just 4 months away is making my eye twitch…. need a support group for people who can’t process the linear progression of time
For someone who claims to love books I spend a heck of a lot of time not reading them

The Sound of Music- Eleanor Parker as Baroness Elsa Schraeder
The Baroness has an absolutely amazing wardrobe in this movie! Every single thing she wears is just gorgeous….and this is one of my favorites…it’s casual, yet elegant. I love the fabric pattern of the skirt and I adore that high-waisted sash belt. That little brooch that she has attached to it is super cute! Honestly, this is a look I could see people rocking now…the film may be set in the 30′s, but if this was an option in my wardrobe, I’d wear it.
Ke$ha understood something back in the early 2010s that we still don't fully comprehend even today.
