Happy Leland Melvin Day!

Last year, I saw that tweet about Mr. Melvin for the first time and as an American felt a wave of patriotism like I never really have before. Invoked by a man dressed like a clementine, accolades beyond belief, smiling out at us with his two happy dogs on either side of him. I had jokingly messaged a friend "this must be what people who care about the military feel when they see a decorated general" but I dunno. It wasn't really a joke. Also now more than ever I think its important to celebrate people like Mr. Melvin who genuinely care about progress, science, and people.

Also, he slammed a different orange guy back in 2017 so you know he's chill.
