synopsis: if you get engaged, it‘s free dessert!

the atmosphere around anton and yn was bustling and bright, the italian restaurant illuminating with the glow of the candles in contrast of the night sky.
anton and yn, best friends since sixth grade, had finally made it to college together and decided a night out would be the perfect way to celebrate acing their latest exams. so they went to the newest spot in town, Il crescendo, to have dinner.
yn‘s order was a simple pasta al pesto and anton ordered the risotto, and they shared a bottle of red wine.
sat next to each other (because they both hated sitting across), and engaged in their usual energetic conversation before anton noticed a sign near the door that read: "proposals = free dessert !!" in large white chalk written in a serif font.
with a small smile, anton nudged yn, pointing his thick finger to the sign he said, "wanna get engaged?"
yn giggled, nodding. "i thought you‘d never ask."
yn who was thankfully wearing a few rings to match her outfit, discreetly slid her nicest one off and slipped it into anton‘s large palm, who proceeded to slide off the booth, taking yn‘s hand in his own as he got on one knee, his six foot frame still managing to appear large, even when kneeled.
"my dearest yn…" anton spoke loudly, gaining everyone’s attention as he tried to hold back a laugh.
"you are the most beautiful woman i have ever met, and i am so grateful to call you mine. and i hope to call you mine for the rest of our lives." on cue, anton pulled out yn‘s ring. "will you grant me eternal happiness, and marry me?"
with a gasp, yn covered her chest with her hands, nodding profusely. "oh yes! yes i‘ll marry you, anton!" yn said dramatically, pulling anton in for a hug after he slid yn‘s shiny ring back on that special finger.
everyone in the restaurant clapped, whooped, and cheered, sparks practically flying at the sight of the young pair.
sitting back down with yn still in his arms, anton pulled away to gaze at his best friend.
"you know…i meant everything i said to you. i…i really do want to be with you." anton smiled softly as a faint layer of blush dusted across his cheeks, butterflies in his stomach as he anticipated yn‘s answer.
"you…you wanna marry me?" yn giggled.
"well…eventually, yes. but i was thinking we could date before i save up to buy you a proper ring. what do you say, beautiful? can i be your boyfriend?" anton‘s eyes softened with affection and pure adoration, tucking a strand of yn‘s hair behind her shoulder.
"well since you scored me a free dessert…" yn placed her manicured pointer finger on her lips as she pretended to think. "yes."
anton smirked, pulling yn in to pepper kisses all over her face before landing innocently on her full lips. "that‘s my girl."
an: ik i‘ve disappeared off the face of the planet but i am back !! i gained a lot of support from my heeseung fanfic i wrote and i‘m beyond grateful, so i‘ve decided to continue writing. i lost a lot of motivation for a while between graduating high school in may and juggling all my school work before that. but i have a lot more free time now, so i will be posting more frequently, and not just for kpop, i want to expand my horizons. i won‘t be ghosting any of you anymore :)
