i have been thinking about these parallels for DAYS hear me out. you have three boys, all from the same town. they have all gotten to play together whether in training in their hometown or on international levels. two of them are first overall picks and have been created into a saviour archetype of a team that needs them. the other one is a lower draft pick that has flourished in their rookie year and has earned their place in conversations (oh and that one was involved in a trade with the bruins on deadline day in 2025 and their original team basically got nothing in that trade). i am very emotional about the nova scotia mafia on a normal day and i’m not even from nova scotia. my bc/vancouver heart wants to cry everytime i think about the bedard celebrini minten duo.

mack getting backlash for things most of the normal college guys do. people are so weird about him. let him live a little. he literally broke the franchise record and had 4th most points in the league. it’s not like he’s doing these things and it’s negatively affecting his hockey. it’s normal college activities and idk why people think it’s humiliating? and about the captaincy, mack has shown no indication of wanting to fight sid about it at all and idk where people are getting these ideas. they probably saw someone rpf-ing and took it as a fact. some people are so passive aggressive about mack. maybe they resent him because he’s better than their fav players.

Honestly there is no part of me that believes Mack would even put up a fight to keep the C. Sidney Crosby is someone who pretty much everybody in the league (and definitely everybody on that team) looks up to and Mack has made his admiration of Sidney apparent on multiple occasions.

That said, I also totally see Crosby wanting to pass the torch to Macklin and take this opportunity to show him the ropes.

Either way, the only fight I see happening is gonna be about each of them wanting to giving it to the other lmao

Macklin Celebrini genuinely has the expression of a medieval peasant witnessing an eclipse for the first time while Sidney Crosby is just sitting there thinking about faceoff percentages and whether everyone drank enough water today.

The funniest part is Sid probably has no idea the psychological damage he does to younger Canadian players. Entire generations enter the league already preconditioned to look at him like: there he is. the national infrastructure.
