Most of the blogs in this little family are largely inactive but can I just point out most of us made these as teenagers or in undergrad but I'm pretty sure most of us are in grad school now.
Almost exactly a year later, and I'm officially an anthropologist and historian, albeit focusing on a different subject than this blog. I've had one of the most insane years of my professional life accepting and departing an executive role and fully deciding on museum work as my primary career. @mary-shelleys-ghost @lordbyronsuggestions mes amis, how are y'all doing?
@realpercyshelley first off, congrats! I may not post much but I still check these blogs and itâs cool to see what everyone has fallen into.
I used to work in provenancing medieval manuscripts based on handwriting and physical clues, but when Covid shut museums down I made some big changes. I now live in Scotland and work as a distiller at a scotch whisky distillery. But I still spend my free time in graveyards reading gothic literature (of course).
happy 214th anniversary of percy shelley and thomas hogg getting expelled from oxford after having written and published the pamphlet 'the necessity of atheism' and personally sending a copy to each of the heads of the colleges def one of the top 10 ways to drop out of school tbh

Today is Coleridgeâs birthday, so feel free to take laudanum and recite the rime of the ancient mariner to every third person you see. You know the drill!
Jane Austen really said âI respect the âI can fix himâ movement but thatâs just not me. Heâll fix himself if knows whatâs good for himâ and thatâs why her works are still calling the shots today.
Meanwhile Emily Brönte just said âWe can make each other worse.âÂ

Percy Shelley being convinced heâs dying of tuberculosis and having ominous dramatic premonitions only to die in the silliest stupidest hubris-filled boating accident imaginable is, and you may disagree, hilarious.
Happy 231st birthday, @realpercyshelley! You donât look a day over 200.
the burning of lord byronâs sexy, sexy memoirs was almost definitely the most tragic event in literary history. i must know the âevils, moral and physicalâ that he wrote of or i Will Die.
