This story is a fairy tale retelling of the lesser known Brothers Grimm story of the Goose Girl. This is one of my absolute favorite books. The way that the author is able to create such an immersive world drew me into it. I also love how engaging the side characters the characters are throughout the story.

Finally one of my favorite things about the story is how much the story was able to make me think. It really dove into making the audience think and analyze the text. Seriously if you haven't read it already, please do.

For those who have read the story, here is a short story that I wrote about the main male character. I got to read this book for a college class, so this is the homework I have completed. If you haven't read it, I would recommend not reading it since it contains a major spoiler for the story.

Why Legendborn is both an diversion of fantasy troupes and not at the same time

For my children's lit course, we were assigned to read Legendborn and it fascinated me to look at how Bree fits into the world. At first glance, she not the average lead. She is a person of color, she just wants to go to college, and the only reason she wanted to get involved with magical society was because of her mom's connection to them. But the more I though about it, she also fits really well into more typical the hero's journey troupes. She dives into the unknown with much hesitation to only discover that she is a chosen one figure.

So I guess what I am trying to say, that a good story can be both at the same time and that Legendborn is a good book and you should read it. lol

I just found out that the author of the unwanteds, Lisa McMann was actually childhood friends with my aunt and was neighbors to my mom. I thought that was cool. She also based one of the houses in her first series, Gone, after my mom's childhood home. Just thought that I'd share this really cool, honestly unimportant fact, with tumbler!

Jason: Which one?

Kidnapper: The one that's missing obviously?

Jason: YOU HAVE JASON TODD?? Wow, I thought he died years ago, huh that makes this awkward

Kidnapper: What no we- wait why would it be awkward if we had Jason?

Jason: Well... we've already done the whole mourning and grief thing so honestly getting him back now is a bit inconvenient. So, uh, you can keep him I guess? He eats three times a day, and will need water a-

The MCU and Star Wars Universe

I just realized that in the MCU, Star Wars exists. And I was just thinking about how many different characters that are both in Stars Wars and the MCU. I can just imagine Peter Parker going up to Nick Fury and telling him he looks like Master Mace Windu. That image is now engraved in my head.
