So some weeks ago I learnt VSEPR theory on a Sunday and if you aren’t chemistry student, it’s just a theory to explain shapes of molecules. Now when I studied it , I literally had the time of my life because I learnt it not thinking about exam but just to learn it . Now, I must let you know that I was dreading it so much because I had this notion that it was very tough. While learning it , this question arose in my head that if they’ve seen Platinum atoms via electron microscope then why not molecules and so I went to google and discovered this picture and the article explained how it’s exactly like the structure proposed by chemists decades ago and it was soooo fascinating like when the idea of EM wasn’t even conceived , they brilliantly predicted this molecular arrangement!! So frickin’ awesome,right? When I had skimmed through the article , I had this beatific smile on my lips and tears of pure,absolute joy welled up in my eyes and my lashes got wet!!! We, us humans are so magnificent, splendid creatures that we predicted the seemingly impossible and isn’t it sooo cool!! That day I was glad I chose science..

Today is my chemistry test of this very chapter so I decided to share this anecdote I scheduled this post because I have eight exams in six days so...P.s. I think daphne @jeonchemstudy is gonna love this!!

Neurons

Unipolar neuron: only one protoplasmic process (neurite) extends from the cell body

Bipolar neuron: neuron with two extensions (one axon and one dendrite)

Bipolar cells are specialized sensory neurons for the transmission of special senses

Sensory systems: smell, sight, taste, hearing and vestibular functions

Multipolar neuron: a single axon and many dendrites (and dendritic branches), allowing for the integration of a great deal of information from other neuron

Common in the central nervous system

Pyramidal neuron: type of multipolar neuron

Found in areas of the brain including the cerebral cortex, the hippocampus, and the amygdala
