guys, is… I’m not sure All for One is a villain.
I mean, I’m PROBABLY very wrong here but I was confused why AFO, if he knew who the successor was each time, why he didn’t just… Kill them while vulnerable. I thought, initially, that he was ‘farming’ OFA, waiting until just the right successor came along with all the right quirks in a single body for easy taking. But why not just world domination at that point?
What he HAS done is MAKE SURE that each successor WANTS to be a hero. He has MADE CERTAIN that the world always had a Symbol of Peace.
He made sure that each successor – the ones we know of – SAW their predecessor killed AFTER having their quirk transferred. To feel that need to be the protector.
And always made sure the world was Just Dangerous Enough for that Symbol of Peace to NEED to keep their skills honed.And then there’s Shigaraki, who he keeps trying to find 'the right quirk’ for, who he has raised to try to think about battle strategies and to be that sharp knife to keep Midoriya on his toes
What the hell is coming that AFO is waiting for that NEEDS these people in play

but like… AFO is laughing every time he’s taken down, because it’s like he KNOWS he’s done exactly what needs to be done to keep these wheels turning

My current theory is that the brother, the one with the stockpile, KNEW WHAT WAS UP. But two or three predecessors in, AFO killed the previous holder before that info could be passed on. Maybe that current holder was going “why am I training up, we’re not even sure (real bad guy) is ever going to come back” and AFO went “hnnng great now i gotta traumatize you” Still trying to figure out how Shigaraki figures in to this, outside of a.. Backup? Someone to fight the real big bad alongside Midoriya?? Not sure.

That is because Horikoshi-sensei himself is fond of PreCure. He even did art of some of the Cures!
And there’s a legit canon moment where Sir Nighteye is able to track Overhaul’s location, because one of his lackeys weren’t keeping up with PreCure enough to know which season was on (it was StarTwi, and NOT GoPri!)

that, in the MHA universe, magical girl animes exist
and are apparently very Pretty Cure

A little My Hero Academia thing that popped in to my head related to seeing people quitting the series after some... Recent manga events. Yes
So, the whole ‘Midoriya has 8 different quirks because OFA’ thing. One of the complaints I saw was that All Might didn’t have 8 different quirks, just one. Also that now Midoriya feels too OP and he can just pull quirks out of his ass.
I kinda sorta consider myself a writer and honestly the #1 thing I constantly think about is the ‘rise and fall’ arch. IE: How can I completely mess up my protagonists for THE ANGSTS and THE FEELS
Now, we haven’t seen nomu for a while, but wasn’t the indication that people turned in to nomu went insane/braindead BECAUSE a bunch of quirks were shoved in to their bodies and their brains just broke?
And suddenly Midoriya is gaining these quirks... that he wasn’t born with... like the nomu.
And writing 101: Don’t mention something major in a previous chapter that won’t be important later on.
A few complaints about this have said that OP Midoriya doesn’t feel like an idea Horikoshi wanted, that it came from higher up and he HAD to, but... Honestly, I just feel like we haven’t hit this particular payoff yet.
We just haven’t hit The Moment When Things Go Wrong.

All Might Headcanons
Cause I need to put them somewhere.
- He's middle-aged; you thirsty fans trying to claim that he's in his 30's are delusional. Late 40's at the earliest, 50's more likely. Personally, I put him at 53 to 55.
- All Might has never made a dime from hero work. Even when he was just starting out, any payment he accepted was in the form of food or favors. Rewards and bounties go to victims or charity. Toshinori and his agency 100% live on merchandising royalties.
- While he doesn't have the time to answer all of his fan mail, he does see it all at one point or another. There's an entire department at the agency just for processing everything. While standard replies are inevitable, he does personally sign all responses. The team brings anything particularly important to his attention, or directs it to the proper channels; as the Number One, All Might is often contacted by people with nowhere to go. Children with abusive parents frequently write the top hero for help; there are at least two social workers on All Might's payroll.
- An intrepid eight-year-old once sent him a birthday party invitation; he showed up.
- He sees all the fan art; the agency has a monthly newsletter. All of it is kept and archived. One of the floors is a rotating gallery. His personal favorites are kept and framed at home.
- After Kamino, the agency has to double the staff of the mail department.
- Toshinori can cook, clean, sew, repair a leak, change a tire, fix a doorknob, and generally manage anything domestic after living alone so long.
- After moving to the dorms, Toshinori becomes the go-to problem solver for the kids, most of whom are living on their own for the first time. He shows Kirishima and Sero how to use the washing machine, and teaches Shoji how to get rid of bloodstains with lemon juice. When Kaminari turns the kitchen into a disaster zone trying to make pancakes, Toshinori steps in, trying not to laugh.
- He makes breakfast for the kids every Monday morning.
- The students love him, and he's the first person they go to with personal problems. Ashido jokes that he should become a counselor or a life coach instead.
- He lights up inside when Todoroki shyly asks how he can become a more open and friendly hero.
- Toshinori has picked up an extremely wide array of skills over time, because you never know what might save your life one day.
- Present Mic once shut everyone out of the staff room by accident; Toshinori picked the lock before someone could fetch Aizawa. He's teaching Young Midoriya.

- He folds origami animals and leaves them around the dorms. No one knows it's him doing it.
- He leaves an army of tiny frogs outside Tsu's door.
- Toshinori is a polyglot; he's fluent in Japanese and English, but knows a smattering of other languages, as he's often called in to help with international incidents. He can passably speak Mandarin, Korean, Spanish, and Russian, and say his catchphrase in 42 languages.
- Additionally, he knows both Japanese Sign Language and American Sign Language. He practices both with Kouda.
- The day Mic needs a substitute for English, he comes to class with a serious expression.
- "This will be the most important day you ever have in this class."
- He teaches them how to to swear.
- It's the best day of Bakugo's life.
