Neku pulled his phone out of his pocket, flipping it open. No service either. Wouldn’t hurt to try calling someone, though.

After pressing a bunch of random numbers, Neku held the phone to his ear. “Hellooooo?” A few seconds of silence indicated that his phone was as good as gone. “Nope, nothing.”

"Why would they give us a phone if it doesn't even work?! DAMN YOU DR.NEVE!" Kida screamed dramatically. "Anyways, I should probably go find my room, I'm kinda tired." He started walking and waved at the boy. "Oh." He said stopping abruptly and turned around. "It was nice to meet you, Neku. See you around." The blonde grinned and continued walking.

Sure Neku loved walking around his stupid city, but he sure as hell didn’t like being a tour guide. He’d have to decline Kida’s offer in the nicest way possible. Or he could just lose communication with the kid after leaving this hell. Tokyo was a big place, it’d take a miracle for the two to come across each other ever again.

“Right.” Neku noticed Kida was thinking way too hard about something. Possibly about the people back home? “Hey, did you get a cellphone? Maybe we do have a way to contact them.”

Neku thought back to Shibuya. Annoying, busy crowds, annoying, busy streets. Stupid place, with stupid people. Yet it was still home. “It’s a nice place. A bit crowded for my liking, but that’s Shibuya for you. What can you do?”

Kida’s parents seemed like the type that were so laid back they wouldn’t care if their son brought home an elephant for dinner. That or he was just rebellious and di what he pleased.

“What about you? Got anyone back home that you care about?”

“Uh, well, yeah. I guess I’ve got a few people who’d be worried about me.” Though this wouldn’t be the first time Neku’s disappeared without warning.

"Shibuya sounds really cool! When we get out of here, we should totally go together. You can show me around!" He smiled at Neku and lightly hit his arm.

"Hn." he replied. "I'm sure everyone here has someone worrying about them. I wish we had a way of being able to get in contact with them." Kida said. His mouth grew a slight frown.

It's not that he really missed school or the sushi place or even the Headless rider or the endless war between Izaya and Shizuo. All he really missed were Anri and Mikado. Not to mention Saki. 'I wonder if she's alright' the blonde thought. He usually would visit her in the hospital but as of his current situation, he didn't think that would be happening anytime soon.

“Well, I’m about as happy with this as the next guy, which is not at all, but it’s better than SBURB, so I guess it’s okay?” John was conflicted between whether or not this was actually a good thing.

“Yup.” There was no point in telling Kida about CAT, since he didn’t really advertise himself everywhere. “I like this local artist. He hasn’t been outside of Shibuya, and you say you haven’t been there, right?”

How could you not tell anyone about where you’ve been? It’d be a funny story to share, that’s for sure. “Don’t you have family? Friends? Won’t they be worried about your disappearance?”

Kida shook his head. "I've always wanted to head out there but never had the chance." He thought for a minute before answering Neku's question. "Yeah I mean I do. I have no way of contacting them anyways. I'll tell them I was off chasing some girl or something. It's not a big deal, I'm always off gallivanting." Gallivanting as in starting a gang and almost getting himself and several other people killed but Neku didn't need to know about that. Kida, happy with his answer opened his mouth again. "What about you? Got anyone back home that you care about?"

“Graffiti.” he stated. Surprisingly enough, Kida had hit the nail on the head on his second guess. Would he have been interested in graffiti too? Nah, he only liked girls.

“You may like girls but I don’t think many are going to like you, no offense. At least not after they hear that you had a whole adventure inside of one’s vagina.”

"Yeah, Japan has a lot of great graffiti around, huh? I don't really know a lot about the artists but do you have a favourite one?" Alright was he getting somewhere with this conversation? Kida tried not to laugh. Him not get any girls? He wanted to blurt out 'Neku please, you don't know me', but that would be rude. "True.. that is, if we ever get out of here." It finally dawned on him.. will he get out? Now wasn't exactly the best time to be thinking negatively. He had to admit, the thought of never going back home or seeing his friends and family scared him. He shook his head lightly. "I mean, when we get out of here, it's not like I'm going to tell anyone where I was!"

Music was a big factor in Neku’s life. Didn’t take a genius to figure that out because of the giant headphones that sat on his head. “Well, yeah, like you said, music. I like art too, I guess.”

“I like one thing and one thing only, girls.”

Okay. Just great. Neku had run into a giant manwhore. “You must be happy with your current location then, hm?”

"Hm I see. Art? Like.. Van Gogh or art like graffiti?" Damn there was no pleasing this guy. He had this annoyed tone in his voice and Kida honestly felt a little awkward. Maybe he should leave this poor kid alone. "Eh... I wouldn't say happy. Sure I like girls but this is a little too much." He shrugged.

“Alright. Yeah, I like things.” This guy was obviously stupid. Even Neku, who wasn’t a fan of talking to people, was able to come up with better conversations than this guy. What the hell did he mean by things, anyway? “How about you? Do you like things?”

"What kind of things do you like? Like in terms of music... or what do you like to do for fun? Me, I'm a simple man myself! I like one thing and one thing only, girls." Kida grinned while placing his hands behind his head.

Kida shrugged while letting out a soft chuckle. "It could be worse, we could be stuck in here with rabid monsters. You get used to the smell eventually." Not like that was something you would want to get used to but hey, what can you do. The boy thought to himself. "Sice huh? Nice to meet you!" Wow did everyone in this place have such odd names? Well things have been weirder... such as being sucked into a giant vag.

“Uh huh. Apartment T. I’m in that apartment too.” Thank god they weren’t on the same floor, though. If Neku had to force himself to live with this kid he’d be dead in no time. Neku pointed in the general direction of where the apartment building was. Just down the street, he remembered this as he had just left the place minutes ago.

“Thanks.” Neku didn’t think his name was what you would call cool, but it was nice to hear other people taking a liking to it. With a puzzled look on his face, Neku turned to Kida. “Things?”

"Oh awesome, thank you!" He smiled at the ginger boy. "Yeah you know.. things... like.. objects.. or hobbies.. Things!!" He was having a rough time thinking of what to talk about with this kid. They seemed to have really opposite personalities. Kida was more 'go with the flow' while Neku seemed more reserved.
