Nightmare Before Christmas (October 13th, 1993)
It’s almost the 25th anniversary of one of my favorite movies! I made a very special flower crown mask inspired by the two main characters, Jack & Sally.

Mermaid inspired masks!
I started on a new technique of making masks inspired by mermaid scales, coloring, gems, and imagery. I’m so happy with the result!

I was inspired after seeing Doctor Strange and the beautiful make up of Kaecilius, played by Mads Mikkelsen. It’s not a replica, but I’m pleased with the glittery results.
It’s a leather mask, hand cut and shaped by myself. Then painted black with metallic silver and pink paint around the eyes. Then each hexagon sequin was glued on one by one! The black crack lines radiating out from the eyes are my favorite part.

I finally got around to make Masquerade versions of my Jack and Sally masks. For Sally, I added crystals at the base of her eye lashes, a black flower with clear button centerpiece, and blue, purple, and black feathers. For Jack, I added a pumpkin button off to one side with black, white, and orange feathers coming out from behind.
I’m fond of how they came out!

Day of the Dead masks with built in flower crowns
I’ve just created a few new masks for my Etsy store. I’ve taken my typical mask base and extended the top. This leaves enough room for 7 custom cloth flowers across the top. Between colorful painting, Swarovski crystals, and skull centerpieces, these are my most festive masks yet!

I had a cool gig photographing masks for maskedzone on Etsy. Misty makes fantastic leather masks and also does custom designs. She even made me a custom Frogman design! It was a pleasure working with her and I hope my photography did her wonderful masks justice.

This mask features the Portland Oregon sign, trees, and a beautiful rose for the Rose City. Everything is done in metallic paints so the whole mask shines.

I recently made a really fun custom mask based off inkblots (Rorschach test). I was a bit unsure since this is not my typical style, but it came out way better than expected. I’m so pleased!

Aladdin Sane inspired mask!
Can you imagine rocking out a full David Bowie costume with this awesome mask? It would be epic. This entire mask was made from one piece of leather, so it’s durable, light weight, and super comfortable.

David Bowie was an inspiration to an entire generation and will be greatly missed.

Battlestar Galactica inspired mask
I really wanted to try a mask incorporating Starbuck's tatoo design. I finally transferred the winged design over for my Cameo cutter. I painted the leather mask black, added the sticker, then painted a nebula design on top. When you remove the sticker, it keeps that design black with the colors all around. I’m so pleased with how this come out!

S.H.I.E.L.D. Masquerade Mask
I made a SHIELD mask with metallic silver acrylic paint over a black base. That little symbol off to the side was created with a Cameo cutter, placed on the mask, painted over, then removed. I think the overall effect is really awesome!

I took one of my handmade leather mask bases and thought I’d do a simple Batman themed mask using the bat symbol. I love how the yellow pops against the matte black base.
