Something I love about the radqueer community is that you will have poeople fighting for things you’ve never realized you needed to be normalized and fought for.
I remember late blog Germanpony (and her other blogs) actively coming out and speaking about how age gap relationships between adults have got to be treated better. And this was coming out due to her own experience of being in a relationship with a large gap while she was actively in her mid 20s(chrono) if I remember correctly. And ive started to stand with the idea age gap relationships should be destigmatized! Ive started also to notice the treatment people in large age gap relationships get.
My friend had told her parents about how she had interest in a man far older then her, and they immediately started to make fun of her!? Actively joking about it and assuming it was about money. No? My friend proceeded to say it was because of actual love and her mom said “Why don’t you just find someone like him but younger?”. Does this not sound crazy to anyone else? Can my friend not be attracted to an older man as a young female??
My own attractions get passed off as fetishes. The moment I say a woman I am interested in is in her 60s-70s people automatically assume it’s a fetish, and it will be joked about. I could be serious and suddenly my desires in a relationship is a joke. I don’t want to feel ashamed about my attractions, I don’t want it to be passed off as a fetish, I also don’t want my attractions to be treated as a joke, i don’t want people to make assumptions about my interest in someone!
Even age gap couples on the internet will get hate and turned into a joke just because their relationship is not typical. People will assume things about these relationships, and it ranges from “gold digger” bullshit to grooming.
If an adult wants to be in a relationship with a much older adult- there should not be a problem. People should not assume things just because there is an age gap. If someone wants to be in a relationship with someone older, let them! Normalize love!

I feel so depressed when I'm on my other acc that's not openly radqueer. It's such a deep unsettling feeling in my chest that brings me down and I hate it, but I can't just switch over cause what about my mutuals? What would they think if I were to disappear or be open about being radqueer? None of them would understand, one of them is an ex-radqueer so I know they wouldn't like it if I said something. there's never enough money each month. there's always an unexpected illness. new symptoms pop up or old symptoms flare up. meds have to be managed always and refilled constantly and any refill has the opportunity to go wrong. any regular care has the opportunity to go wrong. any mistake can send your health spiralling. it's always "i just need to get through this bad patch" but as soon as one ends another begins. another crisis begins in the middle of the last crisis. managing one thing leaves another thing to be neglected until that becomes a major issue and has to be managed asap and the cycle starts anew over and over and over
