Concept: a/b/o except betas are rare. Most people fit into the alpha and omega types, but sometimes you’ll get the freak of nature betas. They’re built like omegas, but just as strong as alphas. Think gymnast or archer build. They’re super fast, super clever, quick on their feet, and can outrun even the fastest of alphas. Evolutionarily, they were the scouts. They would run ahead and scout out areas to feed and camp in, and would search for multiple food sources rather than stay and gather for long periods like omegas would. In a hunter gatherer society that is.

Most of them are neurodivergent, because having adhd especially made them biologically better at hunting and gathering than the others. In modern society, they’re seen as valuable and rare and, in older times, they were popularly bought and sold, until human rights were more respected.

The difference between them and the rest of society is like the difference between a dog and wolf dog. Like yeah it’s a dog; it looks like a dog and barks like a dog but it’s just slightly *off*. They have wild eyes and wild hair and speak just strange enough that you can tell they’re just different. It’s like an elf or a changeling.

This ended up longer than I thought it would lmao I’m just full of betas being cool brainrot 0-0 I feel like a lot of people treat them as being “normal” people or just less cool alphas. Like maybe they’re amazing and cool? As they should be?

Visuals: 2005 three months into filming, a little drunk at a dimly lit bar, a moment - Jared’s fingers brushing over Jensen’s face and the corner of his mouth, Jensen’s lips parting as he realizes what he’s feeling for his costar isn’t friendship; 2006 an unplanned kiss on the balcony of Jared’s highrise hotel room overlooking the beautiful Vancouver cityscape at night; 2009 Jared and Jensen wrestling in a con hotel in tee shirts and boxer briefs, Jensen pinned on his back, breathless from Jared leaning over him, long strands of hair hanging over his face, sweat darkening his tee shirt, grinning in victory; 2015 Jensen hugging Jared desperately when he got back from the Jib con Jared missed because of depression; 2024 Jared lending an exhausted Jensen his beanie on a plane, the two sleeping leaning on each other; 2026 Jared and Jensen jumped in a dark alley in Rome and robbed at knifepoint, held back and helpless to protect each other; reluctantly needy Jared with an injured leg sitting on a hospital bed, Jensen kneeling to fasten a leg brace around his bare thigh; present day Jared and Jensen sitting on the edge of the pool in the moonlight at Jared’s house in Austin, finally confessing their feelings (and then doing something about it)

Title: Billie's Gift

Pairing: Sam/Jess

Rating: PG-13

Summary:

Set after 13.12 but before 13.13. Sam is in a dark place. Sam and Dean return to the Bunker to find a resurrected Jessica Moore waiting for them. She is dressed in the nightgown she died in with a plaid flannel overtop for warmth. Billie has brought her back to life to pass along a message to the Winchesters, particularly Sam who is struggling with depression at this point in canon. She has so many questions and wants to be with Sam, but 13 years have passed and Sam feels he is too damaged and his soul too tarnished to be with his beautiful young girlfriend. Plus he feels like he got her killed. Jess only has 3 days before Billie will reap her again. The boys tell her some of their experiences over the years she's been dead and she shares Billie's cryptic message. Eventually she and Sam make love and she absolves him of any guilt he might feel. Billie comes and takes Jess back to Heaven, vaguely threatening the Winchesters (because they don't know that Lucifer is back in their world yet.)

Some visuals of interest: Jess in the nightgown and flannel, barefoot in the library waiting for them. Sam pointing a gun at Jess (dressed in that nightgown & flannel combo), Jess and Dean having coffee as they discuss Sam. Sam, head bowed in sorrow while Jess has a comforting hand on his back. Fic Summary: Jensen escaped the dangers of being the only person in his village with magic as a child, fleeing to the forest that’s become his sanctuary, his ability to transform into a horse his true escape from ever being associated with the hateful humans he’s left behind. He remains undisturbed as he grows into adulthood, until a strangely familiar man is chased into his territory, also fleeing for his life. At first reluctant to help, Jensen finds himself intrigued by the stranger and led on a journey to return to his humanity, and maybe even his former home. Jared grew up thinking that his best friend had been an imaginary one, shielded by his parents from any association with magic that might condemn him. When his own magic manifests in him as an adult, he’s forced to run for his life, into a forest he has no idea how to survive on his own. Unexpectedly approached by a lone horse, he finds himself not only surviving, but reunited with his very real childhood best friend. He only wishes he didn’t have to drag them both back into danger, but he can’t abandon the family he’s left behind.

Closing out this round of the reverse @spneldritchbang with my third and final piece. I was inspired by my (then recent) month long stay in Death Valley to do a study of this painting by Mark Maggiori which morphed into Supernatural art because of course it did

I had the absolute honour of working with @masoena, who jumped in as a last-minute pinch hitter and absolutely levelled me with what they wrote. I’m actually still vibrating. A fix it fic but definitely not like any other you've read before!

Fic Summary: A case takes Sam Winchester back to the saddest period of his childhood, and he wants to leave again as fast as he can. Dean is completely unaware of Sam's history. To him, this is just another case, a little gruesome, but nothing out of the ordinary. Can the Winchesters solve the brutal murders and get out of town before disaster strikes?
