Was it ever confirmed that Friend was hunting Spamton? Because I constantly hear people say that like it’s a fact, but I swear it wasn’t?? I don’t remember it being confirmed it was Spamton??

Hell, I kinda got the vibe that Spamton’s whole thing was that he was terrified of being unimportant, and that’s just what he was, with no way to change his fate????

Feels weird, like, narratively to set that up and then just… completely ruin it by making Spamton super important?????????

pls tell me if I just missed a line of text and horribly misunderstood Spamton’s story, because I feel like I’m going mad

hey, so… regarding that new Pink dialogue…

I have a new idea about Pink, and her relations to Friend.

In Pink’s fight, we see her with bright green strings coming from her fingers. I would provide a picture, but I cannot find one for the life of me.

I’ve seen a couple people speculate about what this could mean, especially drawing connections to Spamton NEO, who’s green strings keep him up, and alive.

It’s odd that the strings come from Pink’s Fingers, implying she’s the one in control…

But! Considering Pink’s new dialogue about Friend, I wonder if it’s possible that Pink isn’t literally controlling anyone, as much as we’re supposed to infer that Friend was controlling Spamton.

We’ve all already long noticed weird similarities between Friend and Spamton, hell we first see Friend leading up to Spamton NEO. Both smile, and have pink and gold eyes.

Similarly, Pink and Friend share the pink and gold color palette (specifically the Body, who drops the dialogue about Friend) on top of them both being cats.

I think we’re supposed to draw the connection between the green strings, and draw the connection between Pink, Friend, and Spamton to realize that Friend was the one controlling Spamton.

I could draw further possible connections between Friend and the ghosts (ergo, Mettaton, Pink, Napstablook) but that’s a lot more of a “Local Deltarune Fan Lost Their Mind” kind of theory, so I’ll leave that for another post.

Deltarune Chapter 5 Reading Comprehension Quiz

1) Why do you think that Flowery called Ralsei "princess" after suggesting that they did not need to follow the prophecy? What part of the prophecy do you think he was referring to?

1a) Why would the author specifically choose to make Ralsei's drink of choice blue and pink?

1b) Do you think the status screen using "their" instead of "his" after this scene is relevant?

1c) The secret boss of the chapter is Mad Mew Mew, a character from Undertale who is a trans woman. Do you think her placement in this chapter specifically is important?

2) Despite their romantic relationship, Noelle and Susie seem intent on keeping Kris with them during the festival, and mention things being "easier" with them around. Why do you think that is?

2a) When telling Kris to say "Noelle and you will work out", Susie says they mumbled the answer. What could cause them to respond this way?

2b) Even in the weird route, where Noelle has become obsessed with Kris because they "changed," she still is clearly shown to have feelings for Susie. Do you think this has relevance to the main route?

2c) Why do you think the author chose to include multiple examples of a "throuple" in previous chapters and this chapter?
