PERSONA 4 REVIVAL REAAAAAAAL, WE WIN THESE
AND PERSONA 6 TEASER???? LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
PERSONA 4 REVIVAL REAAAAAAAL, WE WIN THESE
What about Takumi having very vague memories of the hospital even without learning the whole truth. What about him getting fucked up because of the input messing with his sense of reality when Nozomi intercepted, so he's been trying to ignore or suppress it all this time. What about Karua being a reflection of the distortion that keeps him stuck in stagnation but also tries to push him out of it, thus a constant uneasy cycle. What about him masking like he's doing fine but one day having an existential breakdown that creeps up on him and then he collapses. What about him confronting his sense of what 'normal' is and coming to terms with the fact that he never really knew.
.
re: ship of theseus anon. while i like retsnom for the same reasons as everyone else, an understated part of it i LOVE is that it made me question, what actually is the difference between it and the revivomatic, and isnt the revivomatic also horrifying
ARE you the same when you die and revive? where does new matter come from? how is your "psyche" preserved? it relies so much on the data used to grow the SDU specifically that eva and nozomi literally cannot use it, which we know are all fake memories and settings. there is a nonzero chance it's not the person's memories coming from the dead body into the new, but a reupload of existing "memory data" updated ro account for the events of the hundred days
i could go on about this but i wont. the revivomatic is horror
.
I'm in a few 100line servers, and I wanna talk with them so baaad, but I feel like I'm just trying to barge into a friend group.... Lowkey, the members already know each other one way or another..
.
Anon as someone who just joined a server for LDA, and who has been involved in multiple servers for other fan communities the best way to handle this is to just start chatting anyway. If it's quiet, be the one who just shouts out a random thought (a theory, favorite characters, favorite ships, favorite moments).
If you're also in the process of playing, tell people your thoughts! As someone who's 100/100 the game, it's so fun to hear people's reactions.
Over all don't be afraid, just because they know each other doesn't mean they don't want to know you. I love meeting new people with different or similar thoughts to me. Don't be afraid to add something to the conversation, even if it's just to agree (in fact that's the best place to start if you're nervous a conversation is already going, people love when you back up their thoughts).
Over all the best thing is to just relax and realize we're all just nerds playing a very very long game.
one thing i love about takumi and takumi-g fanart is that artists who draw both always add 300% silly factor to takumi-g. takumi's screaming and crying and running from the horrors looking like he just crawled out of a bog (his bed) while takumi-g's striking funny poses and doing some dc joker style street dancing. giggling like a schoolgirl with a crush while thinking about eating frogs and murder. the first step to serial killing is to have fun and be yourself. being all :3 and stuff. can't massacre the sdu if you ain't cute
Simon saying "fuck that" to literally every other problem was so real of him. He really felt like one of the top five horror movie protagonists that I've watched. Cursing up a storm seeing the dark crawlspace for the first time. Labelling the map with stuff like "buncha rocks" and "alien shit". Drinking the rubbing alcohol like it's the last liquor shot he's gonna get before deployment. Wasting almost all of his tape just trying keep that damn button taped down. The more I think about him the more I'm delighted by him. Mark played him so damn well
Just got out of Iron Lung and I need to know.
What the fuck was all that.
Sometimes, y'all forget that xl was literally more powerful than hc. He is not some crying, whimpering omega, everyone paints him to be. His reflexes were inhumanly fast, he had saved hc many times too, he was sharp minded and cunning. And also a lot sassy.
JUST REALIZED THE DVD VERSION OF TGCF DOESN'T HAVE THE CHINESE INTRO, I AM DISTRAUGHT
My proposal for a Hundred Line route: Sports Genre
Route starts off early with a petty squabble within the Special Defense Unit dividing the team. Takumi can elect to resolve this conflict via a sports competition... let's say baseball*
* This route should include several jokes referencing Tribe Nine (the founding project of Tookyo Games, AKA Hundred Line's production company which Kodaka and Uchikoshi made together), where all conflicts between tribes are solved through "extreme baseball."
This sets up what eventually becomes the team's great idea to end the war peacefully: Challenging the enemy commanders to a hemoanima-based sports tournament.
We're leaning fully into genre parody here: V'ehxness hits a ball so hard it goes back in time to become the meteor that ends the dinosaurs*. Shouma's lack of presence means no one notices him stealing bases*. Etc etc
Like all sports narratives, a gaggle of side characters packs the stands to give expert commentary. Kamyuhn watches with her intelligent smart girl eyes and exclaims, "That move—! She adjusted her center of gravity at the last second, allowing her to blah blah blah!"
Btw Sirei is the SDU 's coach. Nigou is the ball boy. Dahl'xia is referee.
Kako and Ima are the ultimate battery, Kako shooting balls from her gun and Ima catching the pitches in his giant wings. They call signs using secret twin hand signs/twin telepathy (which never shows up again outside this route).
Addamaque gets a penalty for aggressive behavior and gets benched. Zen'ta fills the entire outfield with her clones. Takemaru might also get benched (though his strong sense of good sportsmanship might save him from pushing too far).
Turamtammi insists on being a cheerleader, dancing for stands full of little invader guys. This shifts the atmosphere so strongly that the SDU starts losing morale, so Gaku also runs out to be a cheerleader. He may or may not end up in a matching cheerleader uniform, bc the game has cursed him with Comedic Relief Role.
Takumi uses his sword as a bat. Obviously. There's a really cool cutscene of him hitting a home run. (But also he gets the yips* midway through the game and, crushed that he can't fulfill his duty and win this game, must be reminded that baseball is a team sport and he must believe in his friends.)
With Takumi benched, they need a pinch hitter in their final inning. Could it be... Eito, freed? Shion? (Maybe the choice decides who wins the game?)
After winning, humanity must be allowed to live on the planet, and the fighting must cease. But V'ehxness refuses to accept her loss... One match isn't enough! Let's make a tournament—with several teams, human and Futuran, to see who is more worthy of the planet! Only the STRONGEST will make it to nationals!
As confetti rains down and trumpets blare songs of triumph, Darumi comments on how cringe the group huddle is and pretends to gag. She hates this route so much. Too much power of friendship, youth, and teamwork.
* Prince of Tennis, * Kuroko no Basket, * Ace of Diamond but also every other sports thing basically
Okay but don't forget a staple of the genre, Takumi has to have a massive B plot with him and Eito and their homosexual face off

S.F and Slasher Route Spoilers!!
I need to talk about this scene!
When I played the slasher route this scene was so special to me. I don't even really particularly ship Hiruko and Takumi that much (although I do like that ship, it's fun) but it's just...the tenderness, the comfort and the kindness in that gesture.
In a route so full of pain and turmoil, seeing Takumi receive such a touching gesture felt like getting wrapped in a blanket.
But then you get the painful truth in the S.F route
That Hiruko purposely allowed Takumi to kill their friends without doing anything to stop it, all so they could have that moment together. It's cruel, it's selfish, he and the player should hate her for it and yet...
Takumi doesn't (and I don't either). This was clearly a special moment to Hiruko and she wanted to witness it again to help ease her fears and anxieties. I feel like when I first saw this scene, I felt the same emotions that Hiruko did and I'm glad I got to see it. Which is why I could never hate her for it.
You took the words from me. If you're a fan of SF and Slasher, this scene... and what SF does for it... I understand so much. That scene in Slasher for weeks was so precious, remembering it each time was so special. I'd wait in anticipation seeing lets players get to it.
And then SF came along and Hiruko feels the same thing. In this moment, her feelings resonate with the player. She wanted to see it again just as I did, so how could I blame her for allowing things to happen just the same?
It's also so meaningful when you think about that this, and I'd say maybe BoC, are truly the only moments she gets this sort of tenderness from Takumi. It's Takumi's fears, and anxieties that lead him to reach out to her. She shows him understanding that no one else can BECAUSE she knows, but that knowledge makes her complicit, if not the reason for their friend's deaths. To her this is a precious rare moment of vulnerability, and... it's hard to fault her even with how horrible it is.
They truly use the players feelings to sink the emotional knife that much deeper when this scene comes up again in SF.
I drew my girl!!! She's just a little silly ❤️
Thinking about how nobody in Oakhurst truly knew Martyn. Not even until the very end. Out of all the people in the town, he spoke the least of his past, his intentions (that is, his real past).
As far as I remember, he never fully revealed to anyone that he was not, in truth, just some rich kid. They might have been able to figure this out on their own. He’s far too self sufficient and quick thinking to be a spoiled noble, but nothing was ever truly confirmed. Heck, the audience doesn’t even know what his real story was, just that his was “not rich.”
Do you think Sausage left Oakhurst and tried to learn more about his fallen friends, only to find nothing about a Martyn Woodhurst? No connections to any noble family, no prior connection to the town, just… nothing. Like he didn’t exist.
Did Martyn leave anyone behind? From how frantically he ran into town in the beginning, it seemed like he must have been running from something, from his past. We don’t know why he really came to Oakhurst in the first place, nor do we know if he has any connections left outside of the town. If he did, they will very likely never know what happened. How could they? Nobody would know to tell them.
Those who knew the true Martyn before the events of Vampires will never know what became of him, while those who saw him collapse, saw him die, never actually knew the real Martyn.
The survivors will go on to tell the story of a man who never existed, but the couldn’t have known any better. The real identity of Martyn Woodhurst died, all too abruptly, with him.
