Connecticon 2018

Had a great weekend at Connecticon this yr.  Was able to get to the Friday RWBY photoshoot for some fun shenanigans, and lots of skewering people with my new spear.  Was also able to swing by Nolan North’s booth for a photo and autograph.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue - Shay Cormac Props

I’ve been working on all the weapons needed for Shay from ACR. All pieces were made out of wood using a jigsaw, dremmel, and belt sander.  Now I’m just waiting for better weather to finish more sanding/painting/sealing.

Connecticon 2017

Some random pics from ctcon.  The first few were random ones after the rwby photoshoot one day just messing around a little/ getting doused in coffee. A friend bought a dragon so ruby and I had some fun with it.  I was cosplaying as descole in the last set, I made the costume and sword all myself.

Anime Boston 2017

Had a blast at Anime Boston this yr. 

 A few bts pics of what went on when Ruby and I were trying to take a serous picture and little Neo being mischievous in the background without us knowing at first before we catch her.

All I can say about the last one - revenge for roman.

Cinder Fall - RWBY

I was able to get some nice pics done at otakon this past yr and after looking through some of my older pics I found one in the same pose with my volume 1 outfit.  I made everything myself and hand embroidered my dresses.

Master Sword - Legend of Zelda

9/1 The Master Sword has been a prop that I’ve wanted to make for a while just haven’t had a chance to get around to it.  

It’s made out of one piece of pine, with the jewel and handle consisting of another layer of the wood to give it more dimension.  The tools I used were a jigsaw, my trusty dremmel with a sanding drum for all the detail up top, a belt sander for the blade itself and the grip, and metal files for some of the smaller details.  I primed it and then painted it with oil based paint before giving it a gloss topcoat.

Anime Boston 2017

8/25 Had a blast at my first time at Anime Boston this past yr.  Spent the few months previous to the con making cinder from scratch.  The top one we did to mirror what occurred in season 4.  The middle one the jaune was nice enough to humor me for this picture.  The bottom one idk what happened we were just having a great time and goofing around.

Sun Sword - Dark Souls

11/15  I made the sun sword recently for a friend of mine that cosplay’s knight solaire.  Had fun making it and learning how to use a belt sander.  The sword is made of pine, and this project took about 2 days with cutting, sanding, and painting.

RWBY - Cinder Fall - Bow & Arrows/ Blade

7/29 Small update on my latest project.  I went and used a belt sander on the blade edge, and then cut out the pieces to build up the blade design.  The extra pieces were then dremeled before gluing and clamping them in place on both sides.  Now it’s ready for priming and paint!

RWBY - Cinder Fall - Bow & Arrows/ Blade

7/16  A year later and I’ve finally decided to make Cinder’s bow/blades.  I started out with 1/2″ plywood and cut the blades out 4 times.  I then used a router attachment for the dremmel and cut out a 1/4″ by 1/4″ channel into all four pieces.  A rod will slide into the channel to connect the two blades to make the bow.  Next I glued/clamped both pairs of the blades together.

I created the arrow heads and 3d-printed them through shapeways.  The arrows are hollow so the end of the dowel was whittled down to fit and then glued.  The tail of the arrow was made using worbla since it was flexible (for when I inevitably hit it against something unintentionally). The end of the dowel was slit to insert the tail and then glued and doweled in place.

7/15 Finally finished Nora’s weapon just in time for Connecticon this year for my friend who cosplays her.  I’m slowly making more of the weapons from the RWBY universe XD

RWBY - Nora Valkyrie - Magnhild

7/5 Here’s some more progress pics of the hammer for Nora from RWBY.  I finished up work on the handle and attached it to a concrete form tube as a base for the head of the hammer.  I cut out foam floor tiles and used a heat gun to mold them to the shape of the tube.  It stands at 6′ 1″ now with the foam added.

Nora Valkyrie - Magnhild

I’m working on Nora’s giant hammer as a commission for a friend.  I started out with a 2″ by 8″ piece of wood and cut it out with a jigsaw.  I then used a table saw to cut off the two pieces in the first picture so the main section would only be 1″ thick.  Next I used an engraving bit for the details along the main section after wood filling in some bad sections of wood.  The large piece sticking off the top will go anchor the main section of the hammer to the post and will not be showing in the end.

Assassin’s Creed - Altair’s sword

This is the finished sword.  It turned out pretty good and I had fun dremmeling the design into the hilt of the sword since I haven’t done a design like that before.

I worked on this sword for a friend of mine who loves Altair that I picked out of a hat for secret santa exchange.  I loved the design before hand and the secret santa gave me an excuse to go ahead and make it.  I just used my trusty old dremmel with a sanding drum and an engraving bit was used for the blade section.

RWBY Photoshoot - August 2015

Here’s a few different shots goofing around with props.  We were playing around with the season 1 opener in the first one. I couldn’t resist lining up a shot in the next 3.  The last is with all of the props that I’ve made throughout the past year.
