That’s true. The guys can tend to go overboard often when it comes to birthdays. But!! You come to this one!!
I think this is kind of excessive. It’s just a birthday.
But it’s your birthday Ray! You know we celebrate crew birthday’s in style. Happy Birthday!!
“You took Jack’s car??” Lindsay questions. That does explain how Michael got here so quickly after her texts. And he did say that his car was impounded so they he would have taken someone’s car. “I’m sure if you let him know you came to see me he’ll back off a little. At least we’re getting you patched up instead of just going back out.”
Lindsay gently slaps at Michael’s hand everytime he keeps swiping her alcohol pad. She pouts a little but eventually the two finish patching Michael up. As she starts to pack the medkit back up, she listens to Michael and laughs a little. “Of course we are. They both have nothing on us!”
Lindsay frowns a little at the injuries, thankfully they aren’t too bad but it would be better if he wasn’t hurt at all. But, she knows deep down, that their lifestyle was never an injury free one. They both bear scars of that, both physically and mentally.
“Geoff would be the worse one for sure.” Lindsay added as she started to patch Michael up. “Jack would at least be slight teasing here and then but he would eventually stop. Geoff wouldn’t let us live it down for months. Though at least half of crew probably wouldn’t let us down.” She paused for a moment and smiled to herself before picking back up. “But, I’d honestly be okay enduring the teasing because we’re together.”
Lindsay moves to let Michael in before closing the door. “We won’t take too long, promise. I wanna go on this date after all.” She gets that happy feeling in her chest when she calls it a date again. She blinks in surprise at Michael calling them both idiots before snorting, which turns into a fit of giggles. “We are idiots aren’t we? Both of us wanting to ask the other out but too worried about the others reaction.”
She gestures for Michael to take a seat on the couch while she goes to grab the med kit she has in her house. The cats remove themselves from the couch, letting Michael sit down without any of them wanting to sit on him. She comes back and sits down, opening the kit. “I can agree with that. I’m sure Geoff and Jack wouldn’t let us live it down either. Now, let me see the injuries.”
“Great!” Lindsay replies, just a tad bit excited about it. She almost wants to pinch herself to see if she was dreaming, but that wouldn’t be something she should do in front of Michael. “Shall we go now? Or get you patched up before we head out?” The worry over Michael’s well being never went away, just seeing Michael hurt made Lindsay worry and want to fuck something up in his defense.
At the questions, Lindsay looks to the side, her face starting to flush in embarrassment. “Well...yeah. Why wouldn’t it? You coming here all fucked up and asking me on a date to go fuck more shit up is such a you thing to do.” She looks back at Michael. "Probably could have worked sooner if I wasn’t such a coward. I wanted to talk to you sooner but I kept wimping out every time. Which isn’t like me at all.” She chuckles a little. “I think Mica was starting to get disappointed in me.”
"What?” She asks when Michael asks his first question. It takes her off guard for a moment that she almost misses what Michael says next. He wants to go on a date with her? He was going to try to ask her out with roses before some asshole messed with him? Well...now Lindsay feels just a little bit dumb. She didn’t need to overthink this whole thing for months. Michael felt the same way and if they talked about it sooner, they probably would have already been dating by now. Maybe Michael was also overthinking the whole thing. Lindsay laughs a little bit, amused by the fact they might be similar in that regard if it was true.
“Yes.” She answers, giving Michael a smile. “I’d love to go fuck some shit up and get your car back from the impound. As a date.” God she was so happy to be calling it a date. “And maybe when we get your car back we can grab something to eat? Nothing fancy but...yeah.” She scratches her cheek with one of her fingers.
Lindsay manages to get herself in a fresh pair of jeans, a shirt and a jacket in the time it takes Michael to arrive. She was making sure she looked somewhat good when there was a knock at the door. Taking a deep breath, Lindsay steeled herself and headed to the front door. Shooing all of the cats to the living room, Lindsay got to the front door and opening the door.
“Michael, I’m glad you could-,” she cuts herself off as she takes in Michael’s appearance, “Oh my god are you alright?! What happened!?” Lindsay wants to reach out and make sure Michael is okay, but she doesn’t know how injured he is. She didn’t want to hurt him more than he already was.
A couple minutes pass. Then a few more. As more time passes, Lindsay keeps getting more and more worried. Maybe he was busy? Or just doesn’t have his phone on him? But...what if Michael’s read the messages and just...didn’t care? A sinking feeling hit Lindsay in the gut. Oh god what if he did decide to not want to be around her anymore. Was Mica and Ryan wrong? Just when her mind was going to think the worst, she got a text back. She stared at it for a few moments before scrambling to make herself more presentable. Probably shouldn’t have texted Michael that while still in her pjs.
[SMS: Big Bad Teddy Bear] Okay! I’ll be waiting.
Lindsay takes a deep breath as she stares at her phone. Even after talking with both Mica AND Ryan about what she should do, she is still having trouble reaching out to Michael. She hasn’t seen or spoken to Michael in a long while and it was starting to hurt her. It was starting to hurt so much that she manages to convince herself to stop being a wuss and talk to Michael dammit. Taking another deep breath, she starts to text Michael.
[SMS: Big Bad Teddy Bear] Hey Michael...Are you busy?
[SMS: Big Bad Teddy Bear] We haven’t hung out in a long while. I was hoping we could change that?
[SMS: Big Bad Teddy Bear] Hang out, catch up, and just chill.
Lindsay sends the texts and waits for a reply, holding her breathe as she hopes Michael will say yes.
Lindsay can’t help but chuckle a little. “I guess you have a point. He did compliment on the outfit I wore before the drinking started. It was one of the new ones you helped me pick out.” Lindsay is quiet for a moment before nodding. “Yeah. It defiantly wasn’t the worse kiss I’ve had.”
“...But how do I bring it up?” Lindsay groans and puts her head in her hands. “I really don’t want to lost him Mica. He means so much to me. I’ve known him for so damn long. I can’t go back to like it was before joining Fake AH.” Her time with the Enderman was torture, but it was unbearable when she thought Michael was dead. She wouldn’t be able to handle it a second time.
[Lindsay nods.] Yeah I’ll make sure I do that when I talk to him next. He usually listens to me if I ask him something, so asking him to not drink hopefully will work. [She hopes. Lindsay perks up a bit and nods again.] I’d love some of Phillip’s insides!
Thank you. I think most of us would be distraught. [Lindsay pauses to think over her response] I... I think I’ve like him for a long while now. I just thought that maybe Michael just saw us a childhood friends and nothing more so I...never tried to move past friends. But if him kissing me, even while drunk, might mean he likes me back? I want to try. [She laughs a bit at the cat part] Michael better start liking my cats more then, because I’m not getting rid of them. Thank you Ryan. I really needed this.
[Lindsay has only a second to ponder what Michael was doing before he leans in and kiss her on the lips. Her eyes widen and her face fully turns a beet red at the action. She doesn’t even get the chance to enjoy the kiss more before Michael pulls away. And then he’s smiling and oh hell Lindsay can just feel herself falling farther for this man that has had such an impact.]
Michael- [She goes to say-something?- when they’re interrupted by glass breaking and before she knows it Michael is gone. She sits there, dumbfounded as she replays the moment over and over. Michael kissed her.] Oh my god. [She lays down on the couch fully and throws her arms over her face. What should she do? She ends up falling asleep on the couch pondering that. Finding out Michael doesn’t remember The Kiss makes Lindsay conflicted that in the end she doesn’t bring it up. If she’s speeding out the door, well, can you blame her?]
[Lindsay is quiet as she watches Mica puts her hand on her knee and get serious. She lowers her hoodie from her face as she listens to Mica’s words. Lindsay was glad she went to Mica for advice first. She really was making a lot of sense.] “I guess that’s true.” Lindsay says after a few moments of silence once Mica was done. “I guess I should give Michael a little more credit. We have known each other for almost all of our lives.” [She smiles a little at that. Michael’s always been there for here, excluding the Enderman.] “...It was a pretty nice kiss. It was short but...right.”
Yeah. [Lindsay’s eyes widened a little at Ryan threatening to take out Michael. She was touched that he’d do that for her, but she kind of wanted Michael alive.] No no no it’s fine Ryan! I’m touched but you don’t have to murder Michael. I kind of want him in one piece. [She pauses for a moment] I mean, I won’t lie and say that I wish that that was how he and I had our first kiss, because I like him a lot. But we did and then he doesn’t remember? What do I do about that? Do I tell him? Or- [She makes a small sound and waves her arms a little bit, unsure of what to say or do.]
I guess I can resist telling Ryan. [Lindsay is only teasing of course, she won’t tell Ryan. Though it would be kind of funny to see what Ryan did with that information.] You’re lucky you’re pretty.
[Lindsay can hear the sounds coming from the kitchen and wonders who is winning. If Ray joined in probably Ray. He’s practically a god at video games. She keeps her attention on the TV however, waiting in excitement for the ball to drop. Finally, the clock strikes midnight and the few people in the living room cheer. Lindsay turns to look at Michael, smiling brightly.] Happy New Year, Michael.
