Not A Big Deal || Ray, Geoff & Jack
This wasn’t safe, for anyone. That was the thought that just played on repeat in Jack’s head. Yet here he was at one of the crew’s safehouses with a civilian. One that could be linked directly to him and used as a weakness or easily hurt by accident. Someone who could spread information not only of the present- but of the past and put everyone he loved at risk. This was a terrible, terrible idea. It was also the only one he had because he had panicked.
What else was he supposed to do when he had run into his mother after 10 years? She had thought him to be dead. There’d been tears. It was a huge scene and they needed to go before more attention was drawn and someone made the connection and sue him, Jack panicked. Maybe there was more to it than that, if he wanted to admit he’d missed his family and the tears weren’t one sided but he was not prepared to do that. So he lead his mother through the front door of North, groceries in hand, and prayed this would be the one time he had it to himself. Jack called out an unsuspicious warning just in case. “I’m home!”
