ao3 is not changing anything by the way! some people just want them to change for some reason. my guess is that these people just don't understand how the site works and refuse to actually learn how it works, so they blame the site because it's easier for them that way.

Fr no rush, but do you think you’ll continue the hell house? I just found it recently and it’s been a comfort read to me lol. Something about comfort characters going through the worst stuff is...well comforting I guess?

I really do want to finish it! It's just been a bit of a crazy year for me. I'm going to push to write more this summer. Especially with the new season out, I feel some Invincible muse coming back to me. I'm so glad it's brought you some comfort! It's so rewarding to hear that as a writer.

You "don't engage with things fictionally that [you] don't like/wouldn't want to do in real life"? What does that leave you lol. Do you only watch Teletubbies and shows for little babies that don't have any killing in them? Do you shame people who enjoy slapstick or black comedy premised on violence? Who cares. Literally who cares. Fiction is a way to engage with taboo topics from a safe distance without actually experiencing those things, it's not a gateway into doing those things in real life. So tired of this immature mindset where you feel the need to police everybody else so that all content conforms to YOUR comfort zone. You're not morally superior for being uncurious about dark themes. Sorry, you're just not. We can certainly have a conversation about people not tagging things properly and handling taboo topics carelessly, but it's not inherently wrong to write a story that has incest in it or cannibalism. Again, it's FINE if you don't want to consume those things yourself, just like it's fine if somebody doesn't want to watch a horror movie. I have a problem when people start trying to shame others for enjoying horror movies. It's a way of processing things that happen in real life. Art reflects reality. Sorry that you can't handle that. You're allowed to judge and shame people, and I'm allowed to judge and shame you for judging.

"Oh, but my groomer used X, Y, and Z kink to groom me." Groomers can use anything to groom people, even plain vanilla porn. It's just a tool. Tools are not inherently bad.

By all means, continue to live in your padded, babyproof pretend world where nothing bad ever happens to your characters. That's your prerogative. Don't get mad at other people for wanting to go beyond that.
